Posted in: Oops Didn't I Choose?

I’ve been ‘tagged’! by my Tina to do ’5 things’.
The rules are as follows:
1. someone tags you,
2. you post five things about yourself that you haven’t already mentioned on your blog,
3. you tag people you’d like to know more about.

Ok so five things about me:

1. I feel so self conscious doing these meme things. Which is stupid considering hello this blog is about my life. I think I will not do anymore after this. What a party pooper I am.

2. Wow I cannot think of a single thing to say. I’ve been thinking about it since I’ve been tagged and not one thought will come into my head. I just asked Alan could he think of something. And you know what he said? He said write down I used to be a man. Ha ha ha! There you go. Have I ever mentioned that Alan has the most wonderful sense of humor. He always makes me laugh. We just had this whole conversation: He said I dare you to write that down. And I told him I did. Because I did. So I told him to think of some more things. And he replies well if you’re going to lie you can write down all sorts of crazy things like you’re a rodeo clown. Hee hee!

3. Oh here’s something totally random that I just thought of. I like watching Charlie and Lola. My sister mentioned how much she liked it. So one day I watched it. And I really really like it. I mean REALLY LIKE IT. I have actually contemplated whether or not to record them so I will not miss it. Not for Isabelle but for ME! ME!!!

4. Oh here’s something else I just thought of. When I was little my dad was backing out of the driveway and I purposefully stuck my foot out under the tire. Not my whole foot luckily because I’m sure something would have broken but I know a part of it went under the tire because I remember it hurting a hell of a lot. Why did I do it? Because I thought the car didn’t look very heavy and I wanted to see.

5. Ooh number five. What other random thing will pop into my head? Oh here’s something. I really liked art when I was little. And when I entered high school I wanted to become an animator. But somewhere during high school, a bad art teacher I think, I lost all interest in art. I stopped drawing completely. Then in college I was going to get a business degree. I took an art class to fulfill some requirement and enjoyed it very much. It wasn’t until I took a management class that I knew for sure that business wasn’t the way I wanted to go. But I couldn’t shake it off, that high school art experience. I wasn’t as interested in it as I am now and I really struggled to finish school. But finish I did. It wasn’t until these past few years that the love of creating has really come back.

And yay I am finished with this meme!! I will not be tagging anyone. I had such a hard time thinking of things to write.

and like how I tried to hide this post by writing a new post about Isabelle. If you’re subscribed of course you’ll see this but if you read from just my web page maybe you’ll miss it which is fine by me. Yeah #1 on my list. I’m so self conscious about these things.

I received these in the mail from Christine last week. She is the sweetest!! It was totally unexpected, such a surprise. Thank you Christine!!

See, she sent me the beautiful book The Red Tree. I love the images in here. They are so inspiring. I wish I could create such beautiful images. And look! Her goccoed notecard. It’s just the kick in the butt I needed. Once I saw her card I finally drew something that I wanted as my first try with my little blue machine. Now I just need to go to the store and buy some paper to print it on. :)

I just have to say I don’t know how come I’m so lucky to connect to such kind people. It amazes me. Five years ago I could not have imagined finding new friends through the internet. And yet here I am, with such thoughtful friends. I am grateful for all of you, all those who comment and all those who lurk, all these people I’m connecting to. I do read every single comment. Each one brings a smile to my face and I’m sorry I don’t reply to you all. But thank you, thank you all!

I told Alan not to. But he went ahead and did anyways. Oh wait he said he didn’t get me anything. He said Isabelle got it for me. It’s a Nikon D80 SLR. It’s too much. Should I keep it?

Oh and it was such a surprise! Alan was in the car with Isabelle because she was still sleeping and we didn’t want to wake her. She hadn’t napped much. I went into the house first. After about 20 minutes he text messaged me to come out to the car. I went out and he opened the garage. I asked him what he wanted and he said nothing. Ok confusing. That’s when I saw behind him a happy birthday balloon waving in the wind!! It was attached to a cute froggy gift bag (he knows me so well) with a box of chocolate, a box of peanut brittle (from See’s damn it’s good have you tried it), and at the bottom, the D80!

What to do? What to do? Opinions anyone?

I was planning to catch up on some vacation stuff but this lovely purse arrived today. It’s from Alice over at Futuregirl and it definitely takes precedence. It’s a seamless crochet purse. It is BEAUTIFUL!! I love the colors she chose. It’s like she read my mind. When I first opened up the package I actually twirled around with the purse in my hands like I had a new dress on. :) And throughout the day I have repeatedly picked it up just to look at it.

She even made a matching keychain!

Here are closeups of the birds.

And the bird cage fabric for the lining…wonderful!

And look at the handstitched “label”. Awww couldn’t you scream, it’s so beautiful! And the decorative stitch on the top seam of the lining…AWWWWW!!!!

Alan is probably happy to have gone to work because I could have happily shown him this beautiful creation over and over. In fact I probably did. Look Alan! Did you see it? It’s beautiful! Repeat over and over and him saying, Yes honey, I saw it.

I feel so fortunate to have received this, Alice. Thank you so very much! It is truly a work of art.

And soon she’ll be selling them!! How exciting!!
