I’ve been making doodles based on the doll Helen made. I was going to post one today but I’ve been feeling queasy so not in the mood. Maybe tomorrow.

So what shall I talk about now? How about the embarrassment of my house? Remember when I mentioned how the whole house was a mess the other day? Well it is! Here’s the proof. I told you we were receiving baby gifts which then sit by the door. It’s like maneuvering a maze just to get to the front door.

So…let me go make some yummy chocolate dessert! Avoidance, right Trixie?

We had our baby shower on Saturday. It was soooo much fun. We had barbecue and swimming with family and friends. My dear friends Jennifer and Bob threw it for us. We were there hours and hours. I was beat. I haven’t been on the computer all weekend. It took me a whole day to recuperate from all the fun. I must have went swimming four or five times, once even after dark since it was so warm out.

We got some lovely gifts and took tons and tons of pictures. On my camera alone I got about 137 pictures. I’ll share these two of Ebow.

The living room is a wreck, the bedroom is a wreck, we don’t have a room ready for the baby yet and are receiving baby shower gifts which sit in the living room by the front door. Oh hell, the whole house is a wreck. And it’s just going to get messier. We have a baby shower tomorrow (I’M SO EXCITED) and where is all the new baby stuff going to go? Ummm…maybe by the front door with the rest of it?

So what did I do? I made a souffle! (It’s my first souffle ever) And it was yummmmy!!

We don’t like salesman at our door. We have a sign out front that says NO SOLICITATION. But you know that doesn’t always deter them. Sometimes they come anyways and say oh we’re not trying to sell you anything, we just want to show you something (bullshit). Well the doorbell rang then Alan dropped his computer and he was all pissed expecting it to be one of those salesman. He stomped to the door all ready to rip into someone. But it wasn’t one of those idiots. It was the UPS man with our first gift from our baby registry, a baby stroller.

Alan brought it into the house, my eyes teared up and I waddled over into his arms and we hugged. His anger just melted away. He was so happy, that’s baby stroller happy.

I’m getting bigger. When I walk my eyes are irresistibly drawn down to my belly. It’s mesmerizing. With my preoccupation with looking at my belly I hope I don’t walk into a wall. I feel like a beachball, all round and stretched except I have a baby inside and not ummmm…air.

It’s a sad day today. It was a year ago today when we were at the hospital excited about being pregnant and then the disappointment and heartbreak of not being pregnant. And then the news about London. My thoughts are with them. Why does there have to be this kind of destruction out there? There is so much more joy in creating.

See…baby bootee: oooh aaah

This was knit up easily. (well after I deciphered what the directions were trying to tell me. With right side of yarn facing, rejoin yarn to the inside edge of the 10 stitches and pick up and knit… What?! Facing what? I didn’t quite get these instructions at first but figured it out eventually. Well at least I hope I figured it out correctly. I guess I’ll find out soon enough.) It was very fast to knit up. But I guess small baby things are fast. I haven’t worked on this for days and days so I picked it up today and the knitting was done quickly. Now just to seam it up.

Oh…and sea star, why don’t you leave your name when you comment? Sometimes I know it’s you and sometimes I’m thinking…is it you??

It’s been more then a week since I got ultrasound pictures of the baby girl. And that post has disappeared off of this front page. But me posting her picture again puts it up for another week. YAY!! And now I’ve changed my sidebar so I can click on that post and look at her picture to my heart’s content.
