Angels and devils is the topic for this week’s Illustration Friday. And actually they have been in my thoughts lately for designs on baby clothes. See, I’m still kicking the idea around of opening my own online store. I’m looking at getting into silkscreening but to be honest I didn’t even thouroughly check out heat transfers. I am easily distracted see. Last week Bridgette sat down with me and looked up business info and I was all set to get a silkscreen kit. But then I’m so wishy washy I haven’t ordered it yet. But I guess that’s ok since I really didn’t research heat transfers.

I can’t believe it, I haven’t participated in Illustration Friday for over a year! I was there for the very first Illustration Friday from the beginning before it got so very big. But then being pregnant with Isabelle, the morning sickness from hell started up. I just stopped and didn’t pick it back up. But I did today. Just felt like scribbling something really quick. I almost didn’t post it because I went back reading my blog from when I stopped Illustration Friday and got caught up in reading about my pregnancy and looking at ultrasound pictures.

So who knows if I’ll keep up with it again…but it was such a pleasant diversion to draw this fat bug then to get sidetracked by reading what I was doing over a year ago…getting fat growing my Isabelle.

I’ve been so preoccupied with morning sickness I forgot to post my Illustration Friday. This week is friendship. True friends stay with you through the good and bad times.

I can’t believe it! I completely forgot about Illustration Friday this week! Didn’t remember at all, not even a teensy bit until I went to read Lopie’s journal today.

And why is that? Because I’ve been a busy bee trying to balance my checkbook for days. I’m usually very anal about it and if I could, I would keep track of every penny. But for some reason these past how many months I’ve been procrastinating on balancing my checkbook. And Quicken is being temperamental and transactions are disappearing and basically it’s a mess.

So it’s really fitting that this week’s topic is balance. I took a break from my Quicken mess to draw. And the first thing that came to mind was this handheld video game I used to have when I was little. It was a waiter balancing dishes trying to get them across the room. So I played with that idea and came up with my waiter balancing money.

This week’s Illustration Friday is disaster relief. I found this a very hard subject. Trying to think about something to draw was heart wrenching. Sometimes I think the news is a bad thing. I tried to watch as little of it as possible. Sometimes I feel as if terrible images batter one’s soul. So for this subject I tried to think of something that would lead to positive action.

I just took a look at some of the other illustrations up. I really liked Papunella Broust. That one moved me to tears, the expression on the faces and they way they’re holding each other.
