Thank you everyone for the recipes!

And look! I’ve been drawing again…finally. I have another one all drawn up and ready to go for tomorrow (or whenever I get to posting again).

Yes. I know, I just went to the fabric store last week. But really, if you were me, you wouldn’t say no either.

And plus, I got to take pictures like this when we were there.

And I came home with….FABRIC! Bwa ha ha ha!

It’s linen. I had in mind to make more tops like the green top and the blue top with some alterations.

Alterations like this. No, I haven’t gotten back to sewing. I’m just playing catch up with pictures. This is the same pattern as the blue shirt from ISBN 4579111494. I just altered the hem. It has a wide band on the bottom. I don’t know if you can see that from this picture.

Yeah, so the plan was to make more of these shirts. That is until I remembered that we’ll be getting very hot weather in the summer. Then I thought maybe I should be making tank tops. No shirts. Tank tops. Shirts. Tank tops. I’m wishy washy like that.

Ok. Off I go to not sew with my new fabric or patterns, but to argue with myself on what to make. Have a good weekend and may you be more productive than me!

Ok. I’m getting back into the rhythm of blogging now. I actually took pictures today! Here’s the felt dinosaur (I have a very large head and I have very small arms. Love that line from Meet the Robinsons) from earlier. The pattern is from 0307345416. I used felt from my stash. I wish I had paid attention to the felt I bought. The darker green was either some wool felt or anti pill felt from a bolt. The lighter green wasn’t the same and you can tell he’s pilling up. Well at least he’s finished! Or I should say he has been finished for a while but I didn’t want to share pictures of him because he was a present.

Yes WAS a present but isn’t anymore. He was supposed to be for my nephew Ebow. But then my sister said that she didn’t want anymore clutter in her life, didn’t want to feel guilty about throwing away something I made, so didn’t want Christmas presents this year. That worked out great for Isabelle because she kept wanting to play with him. She recognized that he was a dinosaur right away. He wasn’t even finished when she grabbed him saying, “dine. RAaawwrr!” And look! I have video of her playing with the dinosaur.

You can hear the little monkey noises she makes now. Yes, our little monkey, climbing and jumping off of everything. She must have gotten the noises from Curious George. She loves Curious George! Oh my god, have I told you that she wakes up and asks for George? Yesterday she even did it IN HER SLEEP. I was laying there and I hear “George“. I look over, I kid you not, and her freaking eyes were closed! So yeah. Go look at the video of her making her dinosaur and monkey noises.

And this was also a present not to be. It’s the sewing I kept procrastinating with.

Well actually only the blue and white, Amy Butler belle, fabric. It was destined to become a present. I was going to make a dress for a niece but that never happened. But again, Isabelle benefits. She has a nice new dress now (pictures to come). Oh and the Amy Butler lotus wall flower green fabric is for me. I don’t know what I’m going to make with it but IT’S MINE! Mine bwa ha ha ha!

I got my first ever Japanese fabric!! Happy happy happy!! (Actually I got it about the same time as the hussy but only took pictures today)

And I did some bloggy stuff. That’s why I’ve been scarce around the internets. When I’m in research mode I don’t keep up with email or blog reading much. Yes oh so boring bloggy stuff. It makes me happy when I figure out something for my blog. And if you don’t want to read the boring bloggy stuff about gallery pages, stop reading here and enjoy this happy dance inspired by the way Isabelle dances.

You’re still reading? So, interested in the bloggy stuff huh? Ok. So seeing as you’re interested I’ll keep talking. Er, you know what I mean. You’ll keep reading…

So anyhoo, I figured out how to use WordPress to make a gallery of my unfinished and finished projects! No, that one exclamation point is too calm. It doesn’t convey how happy this makes me. Imagine me jumping for joy. I CAN USE WORDPRESS FOR A GALLERY!

See, before I had to copy and paste and move cells around tables. I didn’t have an easy way to do it, especially since the new projects were on top. If my new projects were on bottom no problem, I could have added a new cell easily. But on top meant everything needed to shift. Do you get what a pain in the ass that was to do? To shift things to the right by one cell meaning with a three column gallery the third picture in the first row would become the first picture in the second column, oh god just talking about it is making me cringe. And not to mention that I needed to make a new project page for every new project. Yes thanks to my obsession with the nice and orderly on here.

Sorry went rambling on there for a bit. Are you still reading?! So figuring out how to make a gallery was a big thing. It involved figuring out how to make a category page for my “pictures” that looked different from the rest of my blog and used 3 columns. To make everything line up all the pictures needed to be the same height. So I had to make new thumbnails of some of them so they’re bigger than before. Then I had to hide that category from showing up in my dropdown category list. I also had to exclude those gallery posts from the other areas in my blog so you wouldn’t see it in the archives or single pages. Whoo I’m tired of typing. See how involved this was? Ok on I go. I had to figure out how to make the previous and next navigation still work while skipping the gallery category. And I utilized the new tags system that WordPress has to link each project with all related posts. Oh the one thing I couldn’t figure out is how to exclude the gallery posts from my feed. But that’s ok. I’m ecstatic about the rest.

So what does that mean basically? Well, now when I have a new project for the gallery everything is automated. I just write a new post, check the box for which gallery I want, and I’m done. DONE! See why that deserves a happy dance?

Wow you got all the way to the end? Ok well just for that here’s a picture of Isabelle, eating ice-cream. Another happy happy happy for me.

See, I couldn’t find my embroidery thread. And I didn’t want to move on with my plans without first doing the embroidery. I wanted to see everything as I went along and how the colors would tie in best. So everything just sat there. Lately I’ve been really digging fabric. Ask Alan. I think I’m driving him batty with wanting to just swing by the fabric store. Which you know is never swing by but always longer than he wants.

Well anyhoo, this fabric is for a quilt. I plan to make one something like the Denyse Schmidt hop skip jump quilt. I really like the look of it but I want to try without her templates and larger than a crib size. We’ll see how it goes.

My mind is bursting with all sorts of ideas of things I want to make. So we went to the fabric store and I bought some fabric. I’m excited to start something new. I don’t know when I’ll get started though since my itchy baby has been needier than usual. Maybe it’s because she’s itchy.

Update: Maybe she was so very needy because her belly was really BAD. Last night when I went to give her a bath and took off her onesie she had red angry marks. It’s the worst I’ve seen it. It didn’t look like dry skin anymore. It looked like actual rashes. It almost made me run for the prescription ointment. But I wanted to give the gentler method a try. But then in the middle of the night she was crying or I should say whining and rubbing her little belly. Made me wish I had used the ointment. But it really scares me. I guess it’s the whole need a prescription to get it that worries me.

Thank you Pink Rocket for the suggestion and the offer! My sister is sending something in the mail for us to try.

I don’t know. I’m so torn. This morning her belly still looked bad and I grabbed the ointment with every intention of putting it on her. But then I didn’t when I read the paperwork that came with it and got freaked out again. Don’t know what to do…maybe Alan will just put it on her and take the decision out of my hands.
