Sometimes when Isabelle wakes up I pretend to be asleep in the hopes that she’ll fall back asleep. Well the other day as I was laying there pretending, eyes closed, I felt her stick her finger on my lips. She was mashing something into my lips, trying to get it into my mouth. I opened my eyes and took the something off of my mouth. I don’t know what it was. It was little and hard, a bumpy thing.

Do you think it was a booger? Do you think she woke up and rubbed her nose and a dried up little booger was there and she plucked it up and tried to stick it in my mouth? Do ya? She’s been sick and sniffly. It could have been a dried up booger. I can’t think what else it might have been. Aaaah!! A booger! A booger I say!! She tried to feed me a booger!!

Usually when I feed the dogs Isabelle rushes over and tries to put her hands in the dog food. So I block her. With my butt. Ok that sounds so weird and my drawing isn’t really accurate. I’m holding the food scoop so see there is a reason I’m using my butt and not my hands. Ok back to what I was saying. So this used to work. The butt block would keep her away. But last night that didn’t work. She crawled between my legs. I looked down and there she was sitting in front of the dog food bins with the biggest smile on her face. She had outsmarted mama!

We’ve had a nice relaxing 4th of July. We originally were thinking about bringing Isabelle to watch a parade but it was just too hot out. Instead we stayed in nice and cool and had burgers and corn on the cob.

Right now we can still hear fireworks going off. Boom! Boom! And talking about boom boom, we were watching this video from the show, Flight of the Conchords.

I haven’t actually watched a full episode. I keep getting distracted. But I have enjoyed the parts I’ve watched. So I was showing Alan the videos they have on the web page.Well Isabelle started watching too. Then she started dancing and saying boom boom and clapping her hands. It was so cute and funny! Wish we could have taped it but it was so unexpected.

I totally jinxed us. I made the comment that Isabelle is rarely loud. So what happened? Loud happened. The loudness occurred at that used bookstore we went to the other day. We walked in. She saw all those books. She started saying in a loud voice, book! Booook! Boook! Boooooook!! I could hear her all through the store. I could hear her across the store. I could hear her when Alan took her outside the store. My little loud baby.

Yesterday Alan had a tire blow out on the way to work. So today we had to get a new tire. And the floor at the tire store was squeaky, squeaky, squeaky. It was a new experience for Isabelle. SQUEAKY FLOORS. She had such a blast. She would walk on the squeaky floors, then on the carpet, and then back to the squeaky floors. Stomping, spinning around, and kicking her little feet. The look on her face said, Oh mama what is making such a strange noise?

I wonder if the people in the store thought I was weird because I just laughed and laughed. It was so fun. It made the time just fly by. She soon bored of it though and was more interested in the cookies in my purse. But now I want to find some squeaker shoes for Isabelle. Hee hee hee!

Lately Isabelle has been a little acrobat. If we are in a position where she can climb us, she will. She gets up there and stands on us. I have bruises on the side of my knees to prove it (from her standing on me while I’m sitting cross-legged). And even scarier is when she stands on our backs. OUR BACKS! She tries this on the dogs too, poor dogs.

And I swear she is trying to do somersaults. She will stick her little butt in the air and balance on her head and feet with no hands. She’ll just stand there like that smiling at us between her legs. One time in bed she actually flipped over! She’s my little circus baby.

Oh and notice my drawing is back to the old way. I think my last drawing was too scary, it scared even me! I think I may save my experimenting for Illustration Friday.

I was reading Secret Agent Josephine this morning and she was saying how Baby Bug can take phone calls on anything. Isabelle does the same thing. Hee hee hee! Except instead of putting say the shoe by her ear she puts it in her neck. And sometimes with her other hand she waves it in the air quite animatedly, like her mama.
