Bwa ha ha!! I found it!! I FOUND IT!! Or I should say, Isabelle found it, the little airplane I crocheted for her back in September.

I haven’t seen it since I took this picture at an airport on this tiny pretend runway, back in November.

Ok maybe that’s a slight exaggeration. But it has been missing in the black hole of her room for quite a while.

The pattern is from Amigurumi Two!: Crocheted Toys for Me and You and Baby Too by Ana Paula Rimoli. I love her patterns, they are so cute. I only changed a little thing with this pattern: I put a safety eye in the propeller so it would spin. And a little tiny motor so it would fly. I AM MacGyver.

Ok, just kidding. About the motor part.

“Red Riding Hood” Crochet Hat

You remember back when I made Isabelle this snow hat (based on these directions)? Well, she misplaced it a few days later or a week later. I can’t remember when exactly. So, I decided to make her a new one. This time I used red yarn so it would look like a red riding hood. And I used bulky yarn so it crocheted up even faster.

I didn’t show it before because…well it got misplaced and I just found it a week ago.

Doesn’t her face just say:
My mom is awesome!
Yep. Yep it does. And oh yeah…we found her purple hat in the black hole. Otherwise called her bedroom.

And some of the latest pages from my sketchbook.

I particularly like the April 29th one:

This morning Isabelle was looking through my sketchbook and asked, “is daddy doing ballet?” Bwa ha ha!!

Oh and our VCR is acting a little wonky. So, I asked Alan if he wanted to go to Fry’s using his method. *Guffaw* And just now looking at my drawings I realize we have been doing the letters backwards to the viewer.

A little snow hat
We’ve had warm weather lately. Today it was in the 70s. So, why am I talking about a snow hat? Because when I made this little hat and took this picture, a month ago, it was cold. And it made perfect sense then.

I didn’t realize I was so very behind on pictures. That’s ok. Moving on.

I was thinking of making Nathan one. But ummm that was a month ago and it’s a little warm now. Oh well…moving on.

Hearts, Hearts Everywhere

I’ve been slowly knitting Nathan a blanket. I have about sixty rows left. I haven’t been getting much else done. Knitting is slow going. Lately I haven’t found it as calming and relaxing. I don’t know why. I dread saying it, as if giving voice to it will make it stick, but knitting has been feeling like a chore. Maybe it’s just that I’ve been stuck on Nathan’s blanket for months.

So, I decided to take a break and work on something quick and fast.
Crochet heart

A little amigurumi heart. I found the pattern here. Isabelle loved it. She wore it as a necklace.

I’ve just had hearts on my brain.

Maybe that’s why my new banner is so sickly sweet hearty. I don’t love it but I do love the dottiness inspired by Bethany.

Crochet Panda

I took a break from making things for Isabelle and made something for me. A panda from the craftzine crochet along.
Crochet panda

It didn’t really take me long to crochet the panda. It took me longer to take pictures. Isabelle didn’t want to take pictures with it.

She preferred to sit on it.
Trying to get Isabelle to take a picture with the panda

I was finally able to get pictures of Isabelle NOT sitting on the panda.

And I even got one with Nathan. Well, of course he IS easy once you get the panda away from Isabelle.
The panda's head is as big as Nathan's

Awwwww!!! So cute, Nathan’s head is just as big as the panda’s.
