Our Saturday
Yesterday I woke up a bit grumpy…a lot grumpy. Nathan woke a lot that previous night so I was not at my best. I made an omelette for the kids to share. Isabelle, as usual, refused to try it. It was an omelette, a cheese omelette. She likes eggs. She likes cheese. So, how could it go wrong?
When I finally coaxed her to take a teensy nibble she made gagging noises and then threw up. I was not a happy camper. Isabelle woke Alan up and he changed her and got dressed and decided to bring the kids out. That’s just what I needed, a change of location. We drove into San Francisco for a visit to the Exploratorium, a little family day.

One of the things I really like about the Exploratorium is how Isabelle finds new things to enjoy each time. I think she tried this water floating thing before but wasn’t really interested. Not this time though, it was fascinating for both of the kids.

The distorted room is a favorite for Isabelle, the crooked floor and different sized doors. And this was was where the only photo of me at the Exploratorium was taken.

I told Alan to take a picture of me and the kids and this is what he got. A picture of us on the tv monitor.
This is what I wanted.

Oh well.
I got a kick out of this, they got a new chair since the last time we went.

A tiny teeny chair. Hee hee hee! Look at how small it is, Nathan is in it.

A visit to the Exploratorium isn’t complete without playing with bubbles.

And we ended our day at the Exploratorium in the Tinkering Studio. They had an area where you could use masking tape, fruit baskets, and toilet paper rolls to experiment with these blower thing-a-ma-bobs. This is what Isabelle made.

See how it floats.

Isabelle’s favorite part of the day was a little animation table. They had recyclables to make into whatever you wanted to animate. Isabelle requested a dinosaur. I quickly drew and cut something out on a cereal box. Isabelle then requested a building and a little person. I quickly drew those out and then Isabelle animated it!!

I love the little sound effects she made to go along with it.
After that we were done, Nathan was fussing. It was just a quick little happy trip.
