I am having a really hard time getting onto the computer this week. I don’t know what it is. Adjusting to Alan not being on vacation anymore and his new work hours? Nathan not wanting to be put down by himself for naps? I don’t know.

I had a hard enough time just getting a new banner up. And I’m not loving it. I had the idea April showers bring May flowers. But it didn’t work out how I wanted. But I’m not going to fix it. As it is, I’m having a really difficult time just getting to pictures. So real quick here is a recent sketch.

And here are some of the bibs I was sewing. Alan’s sister, Joann, is expecting a baby boy in July.

I made Nathan a couple too.

Oh and look how small the hat I knit for him is. He’s gotten so big.

And as a seamstress the part I’m most proud of:

No messy ending or finishing lines. Yeah, if you don’t sew, that’s nothing spectacular to you but as someone who does sew…this is awesome. It’s soooo pretty. I hand tied them instead. Hope it’s as durable.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Mother’s day. Here are the latest pages from my sketchbook because it’s late and as I’ve said before, it’s easier to scan than fiddle with opening trial PS and watermarking photos, etc. And I am tired. I just fixed a typo: I wrote photoes originally. Because you know, photos have toes.

And did you notice. Probably not. My sketchbook pages look different. That’s because I am using a new sketchbook. I’ve finished up my old one. And no, I haven’t sketched that much. It’s because it was the wrong kind. It wasn’t a proper sketchbook. You could see right through the pages to what I drew on the other side. So, after the first page, I started only drawing on the right hand page.

Scanning them was a little bit of a bother too. You could see right through to the other page right underneath it. So, I used to have to slip some blank paper behind each page before scanning. Well, no more. I’m using a proper sketchbook now. Nice, thick pages.

And off to bed I go. And maybe to fall asleep. Last night I fell asleep at 10:30 p.m.!! Granted I did wake up when Alan brought Nathan into the room around 11 p.m. Then I didn’t fall back asleep again until 1 a.m. But wow, 11 p.m. That’s super crazy early for me.

I’ll be back to normal posting soon. I haven’t been in the mood. It hasn’t been all doom and gloom here. Don’t worry, we’re fine. I just haven’t felt like getting on the computer. But soon.

Thinking about Nestle and the way she used to gallop down the hallway for feeding time. Her tail wagging and a big doggy grin on her face.

She used to make me feel safe when Alan wasn’t home. Her big gruff bark would make people step away from our door.

The way she was so big. I could hug her and lean into her.

She was like a gigantic lapdog. She would follow me from room to room. Mornings with her sitting on the rug by the sink while we had breakfast.

Last week I went to feed her and she didn’t come running like usual. She was laying on her pillow. She must have gone in her sleep. Kicking myself for not taking more pictures with her. I miss her.
