I have a four month old now. Wow four months! It absolutely flew by.

Nathan has chunked up so much since this picture was taken. I was just saying the other day that he weighs something like 16 or 17 pounds. We just weighed him on the Wii. He actually weighs 18.5 pounds! My sister’s daughter, who is about 1 year and 2 months old, weighs 18 pounds. How did he get so heavy?! (And we might need to think about getting a real scale. Weighing Nathan on the Wii is so involved. With a scale we can just step on.)
I’m having a hard time finding any words to write today. But I can say this: Nathan is loved.

I haven’t drawn anything for the silly parent series in a while. And I’ve been meaning to draw this, well pretty much the first week we brought Nathan home. Better late than never I guess.

Embiggen the comic
I knew little boys peed everywhere. I knew this, yet somehow I was not prepared for it the first time it happened.
And, no, I don’t panic anymore. But any seasoned moms out there have any tips? Alan still gets peed on quite frequently when he isn’t fast enough to cover Nathan up.fadsfdfsdaf

How cute, mini bunting!!

We’ve been having a rough few days here. Nathan hasn’t been sleeping well which means I don’t sleep well. Which also means he’s more whiny during the day. He’s been in the sling a lot. Alan thinks he may be getting a tooth in. He has been very drooly lately but I don’t know.
I’ve been quickly popping onto the internet but not really motivated to sit down and blog. Well, Nathan slept better last night so now I’m more awake too. So, let me talk about our weekend.

My sister has been talking about going to the Exploratorium. And on Saturday, we got up and just decided to go at the last minute.
Isabelle has never been and it’s been years since I’ve been last. I forgot how interesting and fun it was. So many things to look at, learn about, and touch.

Isabelle wasn’t really into the learning part of it. I’d start to read something to her and she’d just be off touching and playing. Who wants to wait to listen to what you’re supposed to be doing when you can just jump in and do it?

Good thing mostly everything is just jump in and do. And the stuff that wasn’t, well we moved on from those pretty quickly.
We randomly jumped from one thing to another, on the whim of a four year old’s attention span. And I’m positive we didn’t see everything. The Exploratorium isn’t very huge but it has plenty to look at. In fact, I think we lost my sister for a good hour while we followed Isabelle, who ran in one direction, while she followed her five year old son, who ran in another direction.

I think my favorite exhibit was where the kids circled a column of smoke. They just walked around and around and soon the column of smoke resembled a tornado. I know Isabelle’s favorite was a beach ball being blown up by air. I think she would have happily played there for hours. She would full out chase and tackle that ball. Total nose dives.

So, we’ll definitely be back.
