Mad Scientists

I’ve been playing around with my site lately. I went all mad scientist on it.
Me as a mad scientist

You may have noticed, I turned off comments a week ago. I decided to give it a try after running across a couple of blogs that didn’t have any comments. I thought: What an interesting idea. You don’t have to worry about spam then! But do you guys miss it? Is it totally anti-social? Have any comments on that?

Then I kept up mad scientisting my site: I changed my banner today and my twitter background picture. And now I have an idea about my “I Heart” section.

Have you noticed my “I Heart” section in my sidebar? I copied the idea from Secret Agent Josephine’s “Eye spy with my little eye”. Well anyhoo, my idea is that I’m going to start drawing the “I Heart” section to get my draw on. So, instead of grabbing a picture of what I’m loving I’ll draw it. I’m having drawing withdrawal I guess.

It’s been almost 6 months since I had this I MUST draw urge. Blame Secret Agent Josephine again. :) She’s started to draw daily and it got my yearning for it up and going again.

What else can I go mad scientist on?! Well, I think I’m done with my site for now so moving onto the real world and a GRAND EXPERIMENT.

And the title of this post is Mad Scientists because the GRAND EXPERIMENT involves Isabelle.

Ok that sounds so mysterious and exciting. But it’s not really. Do you remember what it was? It was us trying to grow things. Ooooohhhh!

It failed miserably last time and I’ve been wanting to try again so we bought a whole bunch of new seeds.
New seeds because we keep losing our old seeds

And this time we’re serious. We even bought planting gear!
And planting gear

That’s right. Gardening world, watch out, we’re well equipped here! We planted a seed, a single seed of corn, a week ago. (We learned this time and didn’t go all crazy planting a gazillion seeds.)
Leveling the dirt

And lo and behold, it groweth. A plant thing sprouteth yesterday.
Ahhhh it's growing!

Ok so I’m not down with the gardening terminology. A plant grew. Is that what you say? A plant sprouted. A seed has…oh whatever.
A tiny little corn plant

We are mad scientists and mad scientists don’t need to talk properly. They can use crazy words. They’re mad! Bwa ha ha!!
We are mad scientists

And to prove our awesome powers, LOOK:
Mutant helium balloon has been up almost 3 months
We have the power to mutate helium. This balloon has been up since Isabelle’s birthday back in September. It’s mutant helium. All cower at our mad sciencing. Bwa ha ha!

Ok, I obviously need to go to bed now. But seriously, Isabelle’s balloon…Craaaazzzzy!

  1. I have missed being able to post comments even though I haven’t read your blog in ages – the last time was before your gorgeous son was born so a very late congratulations! :)

Love the new banner, by the way!

  2. I just want to say that I love Isabelle’s hair, so black and glossy (err… do people use glossy for hair, not sure, but I think you know what I mean.) but “bang” I’m shut out of the door :P Thanks for reopening the door.

  3. I actually tried to comment on the last blog to tell you how freakin adorable Isabelle is, but I thought I was having a moron day or something. So YES turn them back on please! :D

  4. haahahhahahahhahahahhahah oh man. You crack me up. I love you so much!!! I love all this blame I’m getting for your brilliantness (brilliance does sound as cool). I wish we were sisters.

  5. I’ll email if I can’t comment (as you know) but I kinda miss getting to see what others say when there are no comments! I’m nosy like that.

I’m jealous of your “I Heart” and Brenda’s “Eye Spy” sidebar thingies! I want one too! I won’t be drawing daily entries anytime soon, but I’m enjoying yours and B’s! :-)

  6. I didn’t use enough exclamation marks in that last comment! Let me add some more!!! My cats are both sleeping right next to me, on either side of me on the bed!!! It’s adorable!!! I need more coffee!!!!! (Actually, I probably need less.)

  7. Corn season is over. Are you reading your seed packets?
Radishes, turnips and beets you can grow anytime in Ca though.
Google Vegetable Sowing Calendar or planting chart.

  8. Alan says, “well tell that to the plant!”

Why can’t we grow it now? We’re inside. We weren’t planning to stick it outside anytime soon. What’ll go wrong if we plant it now?

  9. Isabelle’s haircut looks lovely!

  10. I love isabelle’s hair….. You have a nice and warm family ..(^_^)d…
