No, I’m not flicking you off. Yesterday I took my wedding ring off because it was feeling a little tight. I just have a weird sense of humor and it gave me a giggle to draw the moment this way. I actually moved my ring to my pinkie finger.

In other pregnancy related news, I’ve been itchy lately. And not on my belly. I’ve been itchy on my legs, arms, hands, and back. The worst is my legs. Alan has threatened to tape oven mitts onto my hands to stop my scratching. I didn’t think much of it but one of my readers, Lotta, suggested I call the doctor just in case. And it’s good that we called. The nurse said that they like to check if there is any itchiness not on the belly after twenty weeks. So we have an appointment in about nine hours.

Nine hours?!?! Oh I better be getting to bed!

  1. I started itching on the palms of my hands and the soles of my feet, then on my arms and legs and then all over.
In the end I scratched my arms and legs raw. And I all they gave me for it was some allergy medicine.

But I managed. In the end they elected to induce me at 39+3 weeks. And the itching disappeared almost over night.

Oven mitts may not be a bad idea – albeit a rather warm one.

    Good luck!

  2. Itching as a pregnancy side effect!? Huh. Pregnancy does such strange things to a person, doesn’t it? I hope the doctor can help you out.

  3. oh gosh… it must be the ‘histamine attack’!! lol.. something like that i’d forgot what they called it but i’d itched till i was in the ‘skin peeling state of mind!’ i’m not exaggerating but one thing i will never forget was the ‘millenium itch’ or ‘ ’10th degree itch’!! i’d experienced when i was around 8 mths.. no kidding. i couldn’t sleep and couldnt stop scratching until some parts of my skin bleed. i even cried when i met my gynae until he prescribed me a medicine.. phew~

  4. Oh, that sounds like PUPPS. I had it with my first pregnancy and it sucked! Sorry, don’t want to be the barer of bad news. Check with your doc. If it is PUPPS they can give you a steriod lotion to help quell the itch. (It won’t go away on it’s own until after you’ve given birth.)

Good luck! Hope you stop itching soon!!
