My Little Water Lover

I sat down to write this post 2 hours ago. Then I got distracted by one thing or other, the latest being my wordpress theme. I noticed my closed comments weren’t working exactly right and I just HAD to fix it.

But on with what I meant to say.

Did you know Isabelle loves playing with water. Everyday she’s been waking up asking to play with Elmo and froggie. She means the little sprinklers we put outside.

She’ll run to the door and put on her boots and ask to play out there. Actually she makes me put on my boots too. She wants me to run through puddles and jump around with her.
Us again

Recently Alan got some water balloons for her. And now she asks for that too. She doesn’t even care if it’s dark outside or cold or threatening to rain.
Running or ermm walking quickly
Please ignore the dead brown plants in our backyard. We ARE NOT gardeners though we sometimes try. I think it’s the sometimes part of it that does it. You can’t garden only sometimes and water sometimes and expect anything to really survive. Ok back to what I was saying.

Yes, Isabelle loves the water. She even loves bath time. Sometimes I’ll try to sneak in a shower without her and she’ll come running around the corner and try to climb in without even taking off her clothes. Sometimes she even gets mad that I would dare try to take a shower without her.

Me, refelcted

Funny thing though. She has no interest in the ocean. Maybe because it’s so big and loud and crashing. Or maybe she’s too busy enjoying the sand.

Bibs and My Paranoia

Bibs for baby shower
We went to a baby shower on the weekend for Alan’s cousin. I really wanted to give something handmade along with the store bought gift so I sewed something. SEWED!! It’s been months. Amy Karol’s Bend the Rules Sewing bibs were the perfect project to ease back into sewing. Nice, small, and quick. And I love that they use so little fabric. I have more than enough fabric left to make some for our little boy too.

That is when I’m feeling less tired. I’ve mentioned before that I haven’t been sleeping well but the last few days, I’ve been super super tired. At the baby shower I was so wiped out that I fell asleep on the ride home and when we got home I slept a couple of hours more. And I wasn’t even doing anything at the party, just sitting around.

And I’ve been wanting to nap more so than usual. Isabelle’s up and bouncing off the walls not a bit tired and I have to struggle to keep my eyes open. One day I actually napped without her. I left the tv on and made her sit on the bed with me and I just dozed off while she sat and watched tv.

Then the past few days I’ve had moments of dizziness, not with standing up, just sitting there. So being paranoid I looked it up in the Expecting book and now I’m worrying that I’m anemic. I haven’t been taking the regular prenatal pill, just folic acid, because the doctor said prenatal pills could make morning sickness worse. But my nausea has backed off but I kept taking the folic acid out of habit. Well that changed last night, I’m back to the regular prenatal pill.

I know I’m probably just being paranoid, I don’t have any other symptoms. Let’s see how I feel today.

Cute baby #29, M&M Monster for a third time
I don’t know if Isabelle meant the M&M makes her heart happy or it makes the cupcake heart happy. It just makes me happy that she said it. And no we aren’t still eating cupcakes from I can’t remember when. It just takes me a while to draw these out sometimes.

Go read cute baby #28, M&M monster again.

Oh and yes I was tired again today but not dizzy. In fact I’m tired again now and I just had a nap.

Making kebabs
Lately the colors of the food I’ve been making have inspired me to take pictures. I think: oh I’ll share this recipe because I like it. But that never happens. But I keep taking pictures of the food. And Alan can’t make any sense of why I’m taking pictures of the food.

The problem is, I get distracted. Like tonight. I was all set on sharing a recipe but then got caught up in sewing a skirt for Isabelle. Well one of these days…

Discovery Kingdom

Aaaaaah!!!
Weeks and weeks ago we went to Marine World, no wait, Discovery Kingdom. They renamed it a few years ago but I’ll always think of it as Marine World. Just like the Pavilion will always be the Pavilion and Candlestick is Candlestick. Not the stupid corporate names that companies tack onto ballparks and such every few years. Stupid stupid stupid. Why would I remember your stupid corporate name for a ballpark or concert hall that I’ve always known as one thing. But I’m way off subject on that little rant.

Marine World is what I was talking about. My sister’s son, Ebow, turned 5 and we joined them to celebrate at Marine World, three weekends ago. THREE. I finally got through the pictures last night.

It was my sister’s family, us, and my mom who went. Not that you would know that I was there or my sister’s husband since there isn’t a single photographic shred of evidence that we were there. But we were.
Cousin Zinnia and Po-po

Why aren’t we in any pictures? Well, we aren’t in a single photo because all the pictures from the trip, or I should say most, are from Ebow and Isabelle riding the rides. And for some reason I needed to document Isabelle enjoying all the rides that were basically the same thing, going round and round.

They had a lot of kiddie rides surprisingly. Not that I could ride any of them. They had warnings for pregnant women, no riding. But that was fine with me. Some of those rides looked pretty vomit inducing.
Holding hands. Awwwww!!

I didn’t realize Marine World had so many rides for kids. I thought they just had big roller coasters for bigger kids. But of course I haven’t been in years. The last time I went was before they had roller coasters put in. So it was a pleasant surprise that there was so much for the kids to ride.
Going at the speed of light. No, not really. This ride was soooooo slow

Too much in fact. We didn’t get into the park until 2pm and then all the kids did was ride for the longest time. We only managed to watch one show, Shouka the whale, and that we barely made it to. The seats were filled and there were some gaps in the audience. A family invited us to squeeze in by climbing over the bleachers, which we did. Yes, even me with my belly. I vaulted (ok not really) over a bench seat, you know the kinds with a back, in my dress and everything.

Clapping for Shouka the whale

Isabelle enjoyed it so much I wish we had managed to catch more shows. Or to see more animals. By the time we got to the animal section they were all clearing out for the night. We could have ridden elephants! I didn’t know they still did that. Though I sort of feel bad for the elephants. Do they like being ridden? I wouldn’t.

But anyhoo, we had a lot of fun though it was a tiring day, lugging around my baby belly. We stayed until they closed and now I want to go again so the kids can catch some shows and ride some poor elephants. Maybe we should get a pass?
