This past weekend we went to a birthday party. It was for Alan’s cousin, who turned two. They had a jumper there and I LIKE jumpers. We immediately went over and I ran to clamber up the stairs to slide down.
Being a big kid
Without Isabelle. Alan says I’m a big kid. And, yep, I am.

We spent a lot of time in the jumper.
Midair

Jumpa, jumpa, jumpa!

Most of our pictures are in there, even though the slide was so freaking steep Isabelle was too scared to slide down on her own.

Halfway through the party, someone walked in with a battery powered car for the birthday boy. Isabelle was fascinated with it. She followed him around and around.

Later in the evening Isabelle got her chance to ride in it.
Finally getting a chance to ride the car
And here is where I would insert the video that Alan still needs to send me.

Where’s my turn? I wanted to ride too! Like I said, I’m a big kid.

I’m thankful for rainy days.
Rainy day

And for libraries on rainy days.
Thankful for libraries on rainy days

And thankful for friends. Thank you Samantha!

Video can also be seen here.

Samantha and her kids got a little gift together for Isabelle. It was a big hit. What I couldn’t get on camera was Isabelle giggling at the little story written by Molly and Isabelle finally saying, “thank you Molly!”. She’s been saying it every time she hears me playing this video.

Thank you Samantha! And thank you Molly for the card and the cute little story of the chickens and the chick!

Have a good Thanksgiving everyone! Be back soon.

Our Four Day Weekend

How was your Thanksgiving? We thought we’d be spending it with family but we ended up staying home, just the three of us. With our fourteen pound turkey. I’m stuffed! I made too much of everything in anticipation of sharing it with family. And when we didn’t see family, that meant Thanksgiving meals for days.
Sick of turkey
No more turkey, please!!

All the tryptophan and wine has made me sleepy. All I wanted was to curl up at home everyday. And for my family and friends reading this who know I don’t drink, I made a blushing peach terrine with wine. That’s the wine I’m talking about. Can’t remember when I slept so soundly. Anyhoo back to what I was saying…but we did go out to get dog food and ended up getting a new member of the family.
Meet Fish. Yes that's what Isabelle named him
Isabelle has named him Fish.

And what else did we do on our four day weekend? We started a grand experiment! Isabelle’s been pretending to plant flowers in the bath every night so today we thought we’d plant for real.
Getting ready to plant
We’re trying to grow things!

Planting bulbs

We don’t know what we’re doing. We don’t know if anything will grow. But Isabelle loved it.
Planting her seed

And what else did we do this weekend? We went to watch Bolt in 3-D.
Watching Bolt
I loved it. It was sweet and funny, much better than Wall-e. And 3-D? Awesome. The 3-D glasses not so much but Isabelle enjoyed it. She lasted a good hour before getting squirmy and didn’t once ask to go home until after the movie was over. And then after, on the walk back to the car, she said, “I want to see Bolt.”

And that was our four day weekend, eating, growing, and watching. Or should I say, eating, eating, and EATING. Oh gawd, no more eating!
