I’m really excited about this! Aimee, the Founder of Betsy Ross, an indie sewing pattern company, invited me to join her in a new blog, Label-Free. Go read my first post in a, how to sew from Japanese craft books, series here.

Congratulations. And I’m so happy your first post is how to sew from Japanese craft books, since I’m waiting for my brand book of shirts that you sew up so well!! I love them on you and I’m hoping I love them just as much on me :).

I have been reading your blog for several months now and have been inspired by your sewing using Japanese pattern books. I really appreciate what you wrote on Label Free and look forward to the series. In my attempts to sew from the patterns (not knowing any Japanese) my biggest hurdle has been trying to pick the right fabric and sizing. Can you talk about that? Thanks!

Cool!! I have a few pattern books and I looking at the patterns makes me crosseyed, I can’t seem to see which line is what! Also i hope that there are guides on how much to enlarge them!
