Not in the Mood

I seem to be in some sort of funk. I’m trying to get back to my drawing. And I’m trying to get back to sewing. But I just can’t seem to get going. I have a feeling it has to do with the books I borrowed from the library. I’m too busy reading.

I’ve had a pattern laid out on my sewing table now for I don’t even know how long. Weeks?

I also have pictures piling up that I’m not sharing. And everyday makes the pictures older and not worth sharing anymore. So how about some very recent pictures from this weekend? What did we do this past weekend?

An accident waiting to happen
Dye Easter eggs! When was Easter? You never mind that. Just look at the pictures. :)

Dyeing Easter eggs
Isabelle, surprisingly, made very little mess. The only mishap we had was when she pulled the table closer to herself and spilled blue dye into the bright orange dye and made brown dye.

Dye on her hands
And of course she did get some dye on her hands. You know that was unavoidable. But look, it’s barely noticeable.

Bucket full of Easter eggs
Ok. Off I go to sew or draw. No I’m lying. I’m off to read.

I seem to be in one mode only, and that’s the “acquire more fabric” mode. Since I moved into this house in August, I have not really gotten set up. I don’t have a sewing area designated — just an overpowering urge “to sew.” Well, I did it again tonight. Instead of working to set up a sewing area, what did I do? I bought MORE fabric. That’s always helpful, right?

Isabelle did an excellent job of dying the eggs without getting herself painted like a rainbow!

(And my calendar is broken too…)

“…You never mind that. Just look at the pictures.” Oh, you crack me up! Dying eggs is so much fun, you should get to do it at least two or three times a year, don’t you think?

Hey, and reading certainly counts as *doing* something. Sometimes I feel badly that I’m not reading at all anymore, because I’m always doing something else. I personally think it’s really important for Isabelle to see you wrapped up in a book once in a while.
