Letting Go

Playing with Baby Bug flash cards
I bought a set of Baby Bug flash cards for Isabelle over a month ago. I love them so much. So much that I didn’t want Isabelle to get her cute little grubby smooshing hands on them. Destructive little hands that rip and crinkle. Eeeek! But they aren’t meant to sit in their little muslin bag unused. They’re meant to be played with.

So today when she walked up to me holding a deck of cards saying, “oh-ben” (the way she pronounces open with the emphasis on the ben noise), I let go and let her play.

Now I’m off to let go and play. I’m thinking no daily drawings this weekend. We’re planning on going to San Francisco to visit Olinda and off to Clayton to check out a newly opened park. Hope everyone has a great weekend. See you on Monday.

Drawing monster
I can’t turn it off. I’m laying in bed trying to fall asleep and images of what I want to draw are going through my head. So I’m up drawing at freaking 5 in the morning.

And yes monsters are pink, fluffy, and cute.

Let go
This is the image I couldn’t get out of my head last night when the drawing monster attacked. And one pane is so much easier and quicker to draw at 5 in the morning instead of these four panes. So that’s where the pink fluffy drawing monster came from. And yes the drawing monster attacked again. Because I’m tired and we had a fun busy day with Olinda and yet here I am, obsessively (that’s what Alan calls it) drawing away. Well at least it’s not 5 in the morning (just 3:45 am).

Clean New Park

New park. So clean you can actually see through this
On the weekend we went to a nice new little park. I like new parks. They’re so clean and shiny. I hope this one stays nice and clean for a long time. The last new park we went to hasn’t even been open a year and it has a burned play structure, probably some little punk hoodlums. We were there for maybe an hour. We would have liked to stay longer but it was cold and Isabelle didn’t want to keep her hat on.

Sliding down the BIG slide all by herself
We had fun watching Isabelle slide.

Driving the train with daddy
And drive the train.

Come into this tiny little eensy space here with me mama
And have tea in the dining car. Why does she like dragging me into such tiny eensy places? I had to squeeze in to sit at the little table. At one point she wanted Alan in there too! So there we were, me and Isabelle sitting across from each other and Alan sitting on the table.

Come into this tiny little eensy space here with me mama
She enjoyed the train so much. I think we’ll have to go back.
