Tutu. Not a Hat. A Tutu

Tutu. Not a hat. Tutu
I’ve been trying to take a picture of Isabelle wearing this beautiful tutu, trying unsuccessfully. It came from Mary at Confessions of a Craft Addict . Thank you so much Mary!!

It arrived on Christmas Eve. When the doorbell rang, which always gets me in the ready for a confrontation mood (you know those door to door salesmen, no means no scumbag), I was surprised. The dogs were barking and Isabelle was still asleep. I went to the door (I would have stomped angrily to the door if Isabelle were awake) and what a happy surprise, something from Mary! I didn’t even know she had my address.

I eagerly opened the package and was greeted by this lovely little tutu. I had admired them before on her site and she remembered! Isabelle was still asleep so though I was tempted to put it on her I displayed great restraint and just laid it on top of her to admire the cuteness. When she finally awoke we of course tried to put it on her. As with everything, I so joyfully try to get her to wear, she refused, kicking and thrashing her legs about. The only way to get her to wear something is when we go out, smart girl.

So instead Alan put it on his head. I snapped pictures. But now whenever Isabelle sees it she says, “hat”. HAT.

I will get my picture. You just watch.

Another Old Scarf

Keyhole scarf
I haven’t done any sewing lately so here’s another old project that I’ve never taken a picture of. It’s a keyhole scarf, found the same night as the other one. I’ll have to check that box and see what else I have in there!

I tried to get Isabelle to model it for me. I thought she’d be accommodating seeing she was running around with a hat on. But she would not cooperate. She was too busy checking to see if she’d hit puberty yet. ;-) Will wear a hat but not a scarf

So I had to wear it. Sheesh it was hard for me to take a picture in the mirror. I obviously have no concept of where my camera is pointing when I’m not looking through the viewfinder. It took about 20 shots to get one that I was happy with.

Ok off to finish drawing my daily comic.

Silly parent #37, Water Everywhere But Not a Drop to Drink

Silly parent #37, water everywhere but not a drop to drink
Today’s daily comic is for the silly parent series. You would think I would know better than to let Isabelle play with water, ice water at that, especially with the cold weather. But you know, secretly I wanted to see the cups change color. :)

Go read silly parent #36, not sharing ice-cream.

Giving My Hands a Hard Time and a Video

My hands have been bothering me for the past three days because I’ve been drawing a LOT. After the first day I decided to rest them. But instead, I’ve been surfing on the computer and drawing some more. So today I thought I’d get serious and really rest them. I’d do my daily drawing and that’s it.

So I’m working on the first pane. It’s of Isabelle saying “daddy”. That got me thinking about the cute way she says daddy. And I know I have a video of her saying it so I thought I’d share. Hmmm….what happened to resting my hands?

But it didn’t stop there. Oh no. I like posts with pictures so this post had to have one. But the video was from Alan’s camera phone and a capture from there doesn’t make a nice picture. So of course I’d have to go searching for a picture of Isabelle with Alan, even though it doesn’t have anything to do with the video or of her saying daddy. It’s just a random picture of her with daddy. Oh no, more use of my hands!

Oh well. Here’s the video (Quicktime, 1.1Mb). And the daily comic coming in a bit. Poor poor hands.
