Down
Posted in: Family
For the past two days I’m been sort of down. I don’t know if it’s because of the time of month, or that I’m not pregnant, or lack of sleep, or the rain, or what. I’ve been short on patience. Even with Isabelle and I feel so bad about that. I’m unhappy with my drawings. I’ve just been yeck. So today I made the effort to play with Isabelle more and to look at some pictures that put a smile on my face.

Alan entertaining Isabelle.

And this one was taken tonight, Isabelle pushing this old box around and climbing in saying, “choo choo!“. If it weren’t raining we could take her back to that park.
I’ll be fine. I bought some books online (I shop when I’m down) and I think we’ll go see a drive in movie this weekend or call up some friends or I don’t know…something.

Hi Kuky,
I came to your site to look at the 3 tiered skirt tutorial and read through some of your posts and I totally realized that we live close to each other. What a co-winkie-dink. Except I’m enjoying all the rain. It’s going to make turning my organic garden even easier.
My son used to love sitting in his empty diaper boxes. But he’s a boy so he liked it when I would spin him wildly in it and he’d fall out. haha
Anyway, I just wanted to say hi instead of being a lurker. Chin up. The beautiful weather will be here before we know it.

Those pictures make me smile, too. We love to play train here, too, although L uses a laundry basket (if I’m lucky, I get to empty it — otherwise, she just dumps everything on the floor). Sorry to hear you’re a little down. Definitely lots of reasons, and I wish I knew what to say to help lift you up.

i have to say that i think your drawing are very cathartic for you. good or bad, happy with them or not its good to get them out and onto paper. you have really inspired me so that i put done my fabric last might and stepped away from the sewing machine. i dug out my sketch pad and sharpened a random pencil and got some doodles out of my head.
of course alot of them ended up being sketches for new apron designs. lol.

I’ve definitely been in a funk lately, too. Part of it is the weather - though I like the rain, I don’t like the gloomy lack of sunshine part. I like staying home, but I don’t like it when the kids get cabin fever and start being grumpy & mean to each other.
I think I’m also suffering from major burnout after the holidays, both kids’ birthdays, my birthday and my mom & stepdad came to visit. After my daughter’s party tomorrow, I hope we can fit in some “recharge mommy” time soon! I think I could get into scrapbooking or something if a magic fairy would come clean my house (I just cleaned it YESTERDAY people!).
Anyway, hope you find some fun stuff to help lift your mood. Be a little selfish this weekend if you have a chance.
