At the Park

Me and Isabelle have been feeling like crap this week. On Monday night my head started hurting. Then Tuesday I woke up to it still hurting so there was much sleep going on. I think it finally stopped hurting Wednesday night and I didn’t feel normal again until yesterday. But with Isabelle it was a different kind of crap. For her, diarrhea started on Tuesday. And then on Wednesday add a little vomiting on top of that. Which means lots of mama cuddles and letting her watch loads of tv in the hopes she will be distracted from her discomfort. And you don’t want to see pictures of poor unhappy Isabelle. So how about some pictures from last weekend?

Fell asleep in the car
We try doing fun stuff with Isabelle after running errands and whatnot. That can take a while so not surprisingly Isabelle will fall asleep in the car on the ride over to the fun stuff. And when that happens we usually just go home and let her sleep. But the other day I would not be deterred. We went to the park anyways.

Waiting for her to wake up
We waited for her to wake up. Well that was my plan. But Alan pointed out that she had a booger in her right nostril. He said it was the perfect opportunity to pick it out, seeing she was asleep and couldn’t run away. That little sucker was hard to get which meant lots of trying. Well obviously Isabelle woke up. You’d wake up too if someone were trying to stick their big fingers in your tiny nose.

Throwing sand. Bad baby!
Well good thing I woke her up. She has so much fun at the park. If she were sleeping we couldn’t do all this fun stuff. Like throwing sand! Why does she enjoy throwing sand? Why oh WHY?!

Soon to be stomped on by ME
And stomping on sandcastles and sandcrabs that Alan unmolded. STOMP, STOMP, STOMP!! Ok I’m sure the idea was for Isabelle to stomp away but she wasn’t interested in the stomping and you know you can’t have sandcastles and sandcrabs sitting there unstomped. I was happy to help on that part.

Brains!
And chasing mama saying brains…BRAINS! Ok not really. Still have to work on that.

Ride home
And the ride home. Or at least as far as the car.

Ok wish us a good weekend that’s diarrhea and vomit free. And I’ll wish you undisturbed sleep with no one sticking their big fingers up your nose.

  1. poor isabelle – hope you both feel better soon and that you get to enjoy the weekend :)

  2. Poor Isabelle — being sick and then to wake up with Dad’s finger up her little nose. Hope everyone is well enough to enjoy the weekend.

  3. oh the little lady!! Hopeing she’ll feel better soon. AND…I can’t stand those little boogers either, what a good trick to get them while the kiddo sleeps… but gently that is.
    Have a great weekend.

  4. But the photos are beautiful!
    Hope the weekend gets better!

  5. I love the idea of saying, brains, I think I may have to do this with Leila, hope you dont mind that I steal the idea!!

  6. Sounds like a bit of gastro….poor bunny! Hope she gets better soon. I can imagine she feels miserable. The bub came down with it a month ago. Hope you get better, too. I’m sending some good sleep over your way.

  7. Hope both of you get well soon.

My mum will stop me from “digging” out the boogers but i jus cant let it go….it is a very interesting task that i like to….i feel a sense of mission accomplishment.

My trick is use a piece of tissue paper, roll it into a “digger” stick then while DD is asleep soundly…..action !
