Another Too Big Dress

This is dress 6 from ISBN 4418061371. Even at the smallest size, 100cm, it’s too big for Isabelle. I made it knowing that, so I don’t know why I was so bummed when it didn’t fit. I wish I had used a different fabric. A striped fabric would have shown off the design way better. But I didn’t have any striped fabric and I was in the mood to sew. And when the sewing mood strikes in the middle of the night, you use what you have. In this case I had plenty of this cute clothes on the line fabric.

Maybe I will try to figure out how to make a smaller version, in some stripey fabric, and actually correct the mistakes I made. Like the neckline. I did the facing all wrong and then didn’t fix it. I don’t know what I was thinking. And the front bottom piece was supposed to be one uncut piece. But I couldn’t quite tell that from the directions and once you’ve cut the fabric you can’t very well uncut it.
Oh well. This post will be my reminder when I try this dress again.
Ok. Now onto the pictures of Isabelle NOT wanting to wear it. A LOT OF PICTURES!

No I don’t want to wear it!

Whoo throwing tantrums is hard work.

Maybe they’ll take if off if I look cute.

Yay! Finally! Off with the horrid thing.
Why doesn’t she ever like wearing the clothes I make her?
Oh and on a completely different subject. I’m trying something out. All the pictures from this post are on flickr. Did anyone notice if it took longer to load?

Ha, finally someone whose girl doesn’t want to wear the clothes mommy makes!

I just love that clothesline fabric. I think it turned out great! And really no one will notice the mistakes but you.
The sequence of ‘take it off!’ pictures is so cute too. I haven’t even attempted clothes for the boy besides pajama pants but I bet the reaction would be the same if I had a girl.
She is a hoot! I think the dress is adorable.
It’s amazing to me how quickly you seem to produce these things! I really like the dress, it’s so cute.
The photos didn’t seem to take any longer for me.
The dress is wonderful! It looks only a little too big… but perhaps Isabelle will be willing to wear it a little while from now? One can hope!
The dress is super fab! Even with the print you used, just a bit more subtle design-wise. Isabelle is sooo cute and she’ll appreciate all this when she’s older, even if she doesn’t want to wear it now.
Oh my gosh! It is soooo cute! Perfect party dress. Now I want one. I promise I’ll wear it.
Yeah, i want one too. How cute the fabric is.
Dont worry, kid grows so fast just like a blink. she will soon be able to wear it.
Didn’t take longer to load for me. I can see this dress with some cute leggings in orange to really make the clothes line POP. You can do a lot with it – colorwise. I love the fabric!
