I’ve been trying not to spend a lot of money lately. I don’t know about you but with us this usually leads to a breakdown. A breakdown in where we spend loads of money on something absolutely for pleasure which is the furthest thing from a necessity as possible. And in this case it was a hussy. Or that’s what I kept thinking it was called.

It’s actually a HUSKYlock, not a Hussylock. I am a dork. It’s a serger!! FOR ME!! I think I need to draw a new happy dance for that. Later.

Anyhoo, and what’s the first thing I made with it? Something for Isabelle of course! It’s based on dress C-3 from this Japanese book, ISBN 4776203219. I think I was supposed to use some kind of rope, cording, or something for the straps and for decoration. But I didn’t have any. And I wanted to sew so badly and try out the new serger that I just went ahead with my own version.

It was supposed to be for Isabelle’s party. It has the cutest pigs on it and says worn out. I thought it would have been so adorable, her all worn out from her party taking a nap in it. But wouldn’t you know it. Too big. I swear I think she’s bigger than she is. Oh well, she’ll grow into it.

Oooooooooh, I have always, always, always wanted a serger! But then I don’t even sew anymore. Even so I would still love to have a serger!

Nice Hussy! Congrats on the new serger! I think the dress is super cute. Bummer that it’s too big but probably better than too small — she’s going to grow, after all.

Wow, u got yourself a big toy.

the dress is cute, how abt some pics with Isabelle wearing it.

Kuky says: I just tried. She ran away. :) Ha ha! I’ll have to try again later.

Oooh, in the cute Olivia print! Well done! I know its kinda like a major home appliance in price, but you’ll get so much use out of it. I’ve been finishing all the clothes I make with my serger, and I’m quite happy with it, as I’m sure you will with yours.

Kuky says: Yes the Olivia print! I once went to the local quilt shop looking for it but they didn’t have any. And so when I went back to find fabric for Isabelle’s dress I knew I had to have some.

What a cute dress! Is the pattern book pretty self-explanatory or would I be lost looking at it without being able to read it?
