Apron Skirt
So here is the heavy skirt I was talking about. It’s skirt u from isbn 4309280463. The gray was some light cotton. The front apron part was just some pretty fabric. The problem: wrinkly gray cotton, heavy pretty fabric. This is not a light little skirt. It’s heavy and I feel fat when I wear this. But I want to try again. Next time I’ll use some lightweight fabric and maybe more similar colors, not two contrasting colors. Maybe that will help with the fat feeling. Or ahem some exercising. And I’m not sure about the ties. It doesn’t help that they get caught up on stuff.
And what happens when mama is having her picture taken and daddy is busy taking it? Baby will climb up high and touch things she isn’t supposed to.

OK, the skirt+apron — It’s really cute! But I think you’re right about using a lighter weight fabric for the skirt, though. How does the skirt look without the apron? Do you like it that way?

It looks pretty great to me. What it you used ribbon ties instead of tubes? It seems like they might not be as stiff so as to not get caught on things. I love it the way it is though.
I really think it looks good. It probably just feels bulky.
The ribbon ties are a good suggestion.. those ties do look a bit stiff.

Hi! I’m a frequent lurker and one time commenter….have to say you skirt looks fabulous, very boho! It doesn’t look that heavy in the photos, but if you’re thinking of using lighter weight fabric, how about try some cotton voile? I like it the way it is & the print you’ve chosen for the apron bib is very sweet
no you don’t look fat at all in this skirt!! it looks lovely! But I can imagine, when you have this ‘feeling’ that you look fat, that you don’t feel comfy. but I love it the way it is, very nice colours!
you have got to see this! it is a tutorial. a dress made out of a mans shirt! it is sooooo cute! my friend has already made one and she says it is easy.
