Broken Email

I have just discovered that something is wrong with my email. I could receive them but what I didn’t know was that they weren’t going out even though my email program said sent. Wait, that’s not accurate. They do get sent. It just takes a long ass time. I did some test emails and they took a day to get to me. A DAY! I could mail a letter faster! And then how do I know if they all got sent and not just some?

Have you not received an email from me? What a silly question. How would you know if I sent you an email? Or have I not replied?

Sucks. I don’t know how long it’s been broken.

Fifteen Year Anniversary

As of yesterday we’ve been married fifteen years. All I wanted to do was to take some pictures of us for our anniversary. I didn’t need a gift or flowers or a night out. I have everything I want right here, all the happiness in the world.

We had fun taking our pictures. And then I couldn’t decide which one to post. In the end I chose to crop this picture so it’s just the two of us and you wouldn’t be distracted by her cuteness. Ahem, I said her cuteness! Yes…click on the links because it’s all about Isabelle even on our anniversary. :)

Beautiful Prints

I’ve been meaning to show these beautiful gocco prints from Amy Rice for weeks and weeks. Thank you Amy!! But I wanted to have the perfect frames for the picture I wanted to show. Silly. And stupid. No not stupid, but STUPID capitalized and in bold! Why STUPID? Guess. Guess why!

Here’s a hint. I put it up high where I thought Isabelle couldn’t reach them. Does that totally give it away?

Yep that’s right. Isabelle grabbed the middle one and crinkled it. Ok let me elaborate. She climbed onto the couch, leaned way over, like scary over the arm of the couch to get at my table and plucked that print up. Screaming ensued (from me: Aaaaaahhhhhh, you know that frantic there aren’t even any words kind of screaming), mad dash to pry it from her little hands, and then her refusal to let go and more crinkling thrown in with a dash of clenched teeth and I’m so happy to be squeezing something tight fists. I finally managed to get it from her but it’s crinkled now! Waaaah!! But you can’t stay mad at that face.

So in the prints went into not the perfect frames but this frame as you see here. So they are now protected from clenching, grabbing little hands. But have I learned? Sadly, no. Amy sent a total of four prints. The fourth one, a horizontal print, is sitting safely on my table. Ok ummmm ending this post now and in search of any frame, any frame at all…

Trying Yogurt

Several weeks ago I saw baby bug over at Secret Agent Josephine playing with “finger paint”. Well ok it wasn’t finger paint it was yogurt with food coloring in it.

And that made me think. Isabelle hasn’t ever tried yogurt. We’re not much yogurt eaters here so we only have yogurt when I’m in the mood for it. Which is never. So I thought huh, let me go buy some for Isabelle to try!

So one night last week I opened up a container. Mmmm yum!!! I like yogurt. Don’t know why I don’t buy it more. So I took a little spoonful and let Isabelle try it. I can’t remember if she liked it. But she did grab my spoon. And she wouldn’t let go. So I thought, ok I’ll let her help herself. Then she grabbed the container. Uh oh.

So in the end I don’t know if she really ate any of it. But she sure had fun getting it everywhere. It was in her hair, all down the front of her shirt, the table, on me, on the doorknobs of when I grabbed her to bring her in for a bath…yeah EVERYWHERE!

Illustration Friday: Remember

I’ve been practicing drawing hands more. If you’ve noticed, it’s coming across in my quick little doodles where there are now hands with actual hints of fingers instead of just half circles. I’m trying to find my style. I’m comfortable with my little doodles but I’ve always wanted to draw more realistic figures. This is sort of half way between my doodles and what I thought I wanted. But as I’m moving away from my doodles I don’t know if I’m happy with going more realistic. Maybe it’s just that I’m uncomfortable with it…

Well anyhoo, to this drawing. Illustration Friday this week is remember. The word calls to mind conversations I have with Alan everyday. We marvel at how big Isabelle has gotten and often say remember how small she was when she was born, how skinny her little legs were? Remember how she used to just lay there like a lump? Remember when she was in my belly and we could feel her kicks?

And when Isabelle is all grown up I will remember these days, when she’s still tiny but so much bigger than when she first got home and I will say to her, I remember…

Fabric

There hasn’t been much sewing going on here lately. But instead lots of thinking about sewing or I should say fabric. Mainly preoccupation with printing on fabric. Here’s a peek.

Oh can’t see it? Sorry. I just love when Isabelle inserts herself into pictures.

How about this picture? Better? Ah sorry…only a little. Losing light and too much Isabelle around.

This was a test on fabric using my gocco. It didn’t turn out as I wanted. More on this another time when I can get better pictures.

And on a completely different subject. I read this post on Flickr earlier. So I went ahead and clicked on the profile to see the pictures. Hilarious and totally unexpected. Or I should say I FIND IT hilarious. Ten minutes after looking at it the first time I looked at it again. Still making me laugh.
