Books for Me and a New Isabelle Video

We had a very nice weekend. It was the Cherry Blossom Festival in Japantown so we met Olinda there for lunch. We thought Isabelle would enjoy it but I mostly wanted to go here, where I got to hurriedly flip through books (hurriedly because of little tugging hands of course). I wasn’t planning on getting more children clothing books but I did. I actually wanted to get a book to make clothes for me but I ended up getting these two.

My favorite dresses from the book on the left, are this and this. And my favorites from the other book are this and this. Maybe we’ll go back next week for the parade and then I’ll get a book for me…maybe…

Anyhoo back to what I was saying. We had yummy food and walked around and then later that evening we had dinner with my father, sister, and nephew. And when we got back to my parent’s house Isabelle played with her cousin Ebow in his little car. And that’s the video I have to show. I missed it all. I was downstairs helping my dad but Alan got it on video using his camera phone! Yay!! So here it is, (Quicktime, 852 KB). I love the part where Isabelle pushes the button and claps her hands and shakes her head to the music.

A Goody Bag from Shanna

Shanna sent us a goody bag for making a block for the quilts for the Kims. Isabelle loved the bag!! It kept her entertained for quite a bit. She pulled everything out and I do believe she stuck everything in her mouth except for the Pez candy. She drew in the little notebook and flipped through it’s pages. She chewed off the eraser from the pencil and chewed off the ears on a cute little eraser and bit up crayons and sadly broke them into pieces when she sat on them with her not so tiny butt. She was having so much fun scribbling with them. She chewed on the bracelet and happily wore it on her arm. And I let her play with it all except for the Pez because I didn’t want her to choke on candy but hey I let her put everything else in her mouth! ;-D See she would have actually tried to swallow the candy whereas everything else she spit out.

My favorite part was when she stuck the pencil in her mouth and shook her head back and forth, my silly girl. (hmmm…me thinks that she was copying the dogs, you know that shake they do with their toys) Thank you Shanna! Your goody bag was a huge hit here!

Cute Baby #9, Talking on the "Phone"

I was reading Secret Agent Josephine this morning and she was saying how Baby Bug can take phone calls on anything. Isabelle does the same thing. Hee hee hee! Except instead of putting say the shoe by her ear she puts it in her neck. And sometimes with her other hand she waves it in the air quite animatedly, like her mama. :)

Go read cute baby #8, hates bibs.

Illustration Friday: Polar

When I saw the word polar for Illustration Friday this week, I couldn’t get the idea of a dancing polar bear in a pink tutu out of my head. But as I was drawing him I decided I liked him just like this, without a silly pink tutu.

Marker Fun

On the weekend I bought some markers for Isabelle. And we opened them up and had a blast scribbling well on…everything! Gotta love washable markers!

Thank You Shanna!

I was asking Shanna where she got twill tape from and she kindly sent them to me!! But not only did she send me the twill tape, she sent me all these cute clothing patterns too!! This one is my favorite.

It’s my favorite because of the tummy showing top. I was saying to Shanna (well not really saying because we were emailing but it’s easier to say saying because…oh whatever…back to what I was saying) that every time I look at that pattern, I laugh maniacally. Because I imagine Isabelle’s belly showing. I can’t wait to make that. Bwaaa haa haa!! Thank you so much Shanna!!

And on a completely different subject and because I know how much Olinda likes seeing pictures of Isabelle, and isn’t interested in craftiness or non Isabelle related posts, here is Isabelle in a little car of her own. I told Alan to go out and buy her a little car after she fell back and hit her head trying to play with one of those tiny walker rider toys.

It’s so cute watching her “drive” around like in the video. Then I made the mistake of putting in the little parent pushing stick. After that she wanted me to push push push her around. No more self powered “driving” at all. So much easier to grab mama’s hand and drag her to the car. Then get in making sure feet do not touch the floor and then if that’s not enough to make mama understand that it’s a mama powered car now…make little whining noises.
