WIP Friday
Last weekend Alan brought me to the quilt store to look for some piggy fabric. They didn’t have any. Oh woe! So as consolation we went to Joann’s and I bought some new fabric even though I have a lot of $1 fabric leftover still. Ahhh I can’t stop myself. It’s my new obsession! Instead of yarn it’s fabric. I have been knitting though, believe it or not. A row here, a row there on Miss Muffet.

But fabric…aaaahhhh fabric…my new joy. Here is some, just some of the new fabric I bought. One of these fabrics (I haven’t decided which one yet) will be this next dress for Isabelle. I have no idea how to make it though.

Here’s page 1 and page 2 of the directions. I don’t know how they made the scrunchy top part of the dress. Anyone have any ideas?
Oh and I called Apple. It may cost anywhere from $250 and up to fix my poor computer.

Hi!
That’s a cute dress. For the scrunchy top you’ll need to put elastic thread in your bobbin. If you google “shirring” you’ll find some tutorials. Hope that helps.
I’ve left you a note on the photo of the page 1 instructions. Patricia’s right — the photo indicates you may need to loosen the tension on the bobbin so the elastic thread doesn’t stretch while you’re sewing. That’s after the dress is sewn into a tube shape. Then you’ll check the fit and tie the ends of the elastic together at the seam where you started and ended.
