Smock

Do you ever buy fabric that you don’t love and then you tuck it away at home. Then when you pull it out again you think: what in the world was I thinking?? Well that’s what happened with this. It was more $1 a yard fabric from Joann’s. I pulled it out and showed Alan and he said that’s bright and he likes bright stuff. But then when I cut it out I decided I liked it. It wasn’t this big giant piece of bright orange blinding fabric anymore. It was the start to a cute little smock for Isabelle.
It’s from ISBN 4579110544 again. (Wow I really love that book!) It ties in back.

I made it one size larger this time since we established that Isabelle is a GIANT. I think it looks rather cute on her. What do you think? Cute? Or is it: why is that mother putting that blinding orange bright thing on her daughter?!?

Why is that mother putting such an adorable smock on that child? Doesn’t she know it takes away from the cuteness of the child? Oh, someone rescue that poor neglected child.
Honestly, that is great looking.

Little kids *should* be in bright colors, I think, because it matches their personalities. Fantastic job, I love it. Does it come in my size? You are seriously making me want to try sewing garments…! Ack! What am I thinking?

That smock is SO very cute. I love the colours. I am sure she will look back and think the same (after 20 years or so…)

I adore it. I am about to start an apron-making spree which will include some children’s smocks, for a benefit auction at my church to raise money for affordable housing non-profits.
I can’t wait to crank out some cute things using some of my more “unusual” fabrics!
