No Heat…Sometimes

Do people have different body temperatures? I know people who always seem to be cold, their hands never warming up in the winter. And I always seem to be warmer than Alan. He always wants to bump up the heater when I’m just fine. At night we pile on the blankets and I wake up nice and toasty and he complains about how cold it was.

Well Isabelle must take after me. At night she is always wanting to kick off the blankets and sometimes gets mad when I try to cover up her little legs. And that’s with just a onesie on, NO pants. And then during the day I try to put some socks on her little cold feet but she gets mad and pulls them off. The other day when I went to change her diaper she took off without her pants on and it was cold cold cold. I finally got a hold of her and put pants on her and her legs were cold to the touch.

Today I’m more worried about keeping Isabelle warm because she is sick. She woke up all raspy sounding. And something is wrong with our heater. It is maddening! We have it regularly set at 68 and on the weekend it wasn’t turning on. And yesterday morning we woke up to 64. It shouldn’t have fallen below 68 right? And overriding it didn’t make it turn on. We bumped it up to 75 and nothing. But during our nap today it turned on. Why wasn’t it working before? When things do not work as they are supposed to it makes me grumpy. Pissy. No fun to be around. Ask Alan. I was cold on the weekend for a change and wanted the heater on. I was mean and grumpy. Sorry honey. I kept asking him what was wrong with it as if he were an expert on heaters. He is going to try to replace a fuse today. Hope it works.

  1. I’m sure that different people have different body temperatures … or at least different perceptions of what is hot and cold. I hope you little sweetie gets well soon.

I’m the warm one in our family. I can get seriously hot, especially under the covers. I become a like a nuclear reactor. Andrew, on the other hand, likes to sleep with 4 extra blankets and one for on top of his head, too.

  2. jerrett’s always hot and i’m freezing at 65 degrees! he runs around the house naked and i’m in a sweater!

my normal body temperature is 97.4 degrees so maybe that has something to do with it. i know at night that i just have to sleep with a comforter and my temp rises to a 100…i’m weird!
