Cute Baby #3, Isabelle Speak

I am constantly amazed by Isabelle, all the little things she learns and all the simple things she does. The more recent amazingness from her cuteness is talking. Well it’s not really talking, it’s Isabelle speak, it’s not proper words but she is communicating!

She started saying her version of duck a while ago. It’s from watching Baby Babble. She would see the toy ducks being pulled across the screen and she would yell quite forcefully cah, cah, cah! As if with each yell she was attempting to correct the sound that quite obviously wasn’t coming out correctly from her mouth.

And then one morning she started using the word dog. Or again I should say her version of dog. She says gah when she sees Waldo and Nestle.

Now my favorite word from Isabelle is cookie. One day she brought over a bag of cookies and said quoo. At first I didn’t understand why she was making that weird noise. Then I figured out she was trying to say cookie!!

Now with the tv show Make Way for Noddy she actually asks for it. She’ll come over and say na and I’ll put in the DVD that we got for her for Christmas. It is so adorable that she recognizes Noddy. When I was drawing this she came over and saw him and immediately said na.

And Mama. She says this mamamamamamama. It’s usually when I’m behind the baby gate in the kitchen and she wants me. Too cute!

Go read cute baby #2, spitting food out.

  1. Ebow says, “Onedown” for I want down, and “Ass hoe” which means dinosuar or “Ass hoe How” for the movie Monster House. And “fuck” for truck or “what the fuck” for where’s the truck.
He says many words correctly though and even some in Chinese.

  2. Felix has his own language too. I am totally impressed by some of the words he has invented. “Doodah” is a ball. “En-gah” is an airplane. “Cah” is both cat and car. Then he says a few french things too like “core” for encore and “gard” for regard. This language development thing is pretty amazing.

  3. Inwe had her own words when she was a baby. Pfaff-toothbrush, blap–blanket. It was pretty funny. And, I also know a kid who said tirefuck for firetruck. The first time I heard it I laughed so loudly that the mom gave me a mean stare.

  4. Too, cute! My family still uses some of the baby talk from our childhoods … like Nancy’s hain-ga-ber-ger (hamberger) and the ever popular pah-sketti.

Once through the drive through of McD, my little brother started yelling, “Damn it, Fuck!” over and over at the speaker. We eventually realized he was yelling “Kermit the Frog.” Yikes!

  5. You guys are fresking hilarious! i was laughing like a maniac at work reading the comments hahahahahaa
