Lovely Christmas

I hope everyone enjoyed their Christmas. On Christmas Eve we went to Alan’s sister’s house. We stayed past midnight and opened presents. We even let Isabelle open presents. I would start it and let her pull at the wrapping paper. She doesn’t get it yet…the whole present thing but seemed to enjoy pulling at the paper. We didn’t get home until after five in the morning.

And then on Christmas day we had dinner at my friends Jennifer and Bob’s like last year. We had so much fun. I made Kahlúa truffle triangles. We don’t drink and the recipe only called for 2 tablespoons of Kahlúa so what do I do with the rest? How long will it last? Shall I make Kahlúa truffles every few days until I run out of Kahlúa? :)

I knew one day I would be starting a silly baby series. And I have been trying to write down those cute silly things Isabelle does but I haven’t illustrated any of them yet. So here’s the first. I couldn’t decide whether or not to call it silly baby or cute baby. Maybe she won’t like being called a silly baby when she’s older. But I have my silly parent series so I didn’t want to change the name too much. So silly baby it is.

And you’ll also notice that she’s wearing clothes here. Usually when I draw us, I draw us with the same clothes on. It’s quicker then trying to pick colors and different outfits. And drawing a diaper for Isabelle is quicker than drawing clothes. But maybe this will be a new change. It’s nice to see her with more hair and clothes since in real life she does have more hair and does where more than a diaper! :-D

Ok onto the silly baby post. I gave Isabelle some water in her sippy cup. There’s a little piece inside which keeps the water from coming out too fast. I must have put it on upside down because the water was coming out entirely too fast. So what did my silly baby do? She stood there with the cup upside down watching the water just pour out. And when it slowed down a little she would give it a shake so it would come streaming out again.

Hmm…maybe this could have been a silly parent too. Silly for standing there watching Isabelle pour all this water out and not doing anything. :-D

Update: The series changed to cute baby.
