Finished Fat Bunny

I had a rough day out with Isabelle with presents and last minute made Christmas cards to be mailed. The trip to the post office was a bit of a challenge with the capper being Isabelle bursting into tears when the postal worker took back the pen she had been lovingly holding. So I wouldn’t be surprised if some people do not receive Christmas cards. It was just one of those outings. I’m surprised I even remembered to take these pictures today. I’ve been meaning to get some decent pictures for days.
Ok…on to it: the fat, one brokened arm (as Alan sees it) bunny. I added a face and gave her a dress so I deem her FINISHED! Alan thinks she is creepy. He says it looks like a dead bunny. Maybe it’s her eyes?

I usually like to embroider faces but I got lazy since this was a test bunny. I just used felt and didn’t even stitch her eyes all the way down. They are just held by the little knot in the middle. They’re just asking to fall off and make her look more dead. Or maybe it’s her smile. I wanted a big smile like my original sketch but it’s a little wobbly and it doesn’t help that I didn’t stuff her head enough.
But I love her.

Down to the gathers on her dress,

the button loop on the back of her dress that she’s practically bursting out of (fat bunny),

and her blind stitched hem. (Yes I figured out the blind stitch on my machine!) I love my fat, creepy, dead looking, broken armed, bunny.
Isabelle on the otherhand does not love fat bunny. In fact I had put fat bunny down on the ottoman and turned around to find Isabelle screaming at fat bunny and beating the crap out of her. Ok not really.
But she was screaming and pounding on her. I don’t know what that was about. Wish I had a picture of that!

It’s the eyes that make her look a bit creepy. The dress is lovely, and I like the overall design. It’s just the eyes, and well, maybe the broken arm.

I don’t think the rabbit looks dead. Maybe just a little high.
The dress is totally adorable! I really love it overall.
