Fake Lomo. Original picture here.

I love walking with Isabelle, her tiny hand in mine, the sound of her little feet shuffling on the cement, and even the inevitable whine of wanting to be picked up and carried.

On the weekend we went to get our Christmas tree. It was only a twenty minute drive but Isabelle fell asleep.

When she woke up she was out of it. There was a Santa type guy at the lot. I say Santa type because he had a white beard but wasn’t dressed in the red suit. He was greeting people and handing out candy canes. As we walked by he offered one to Isabelle who promptly started to cry. It was the funniest thing. I wish I had it on tape. I guess that means no Santa this year. I mean if she wouldn’t even let a Santa guy talk to her, she will most assuredly not sit on one’s lap. We had been walking around for a while but in this picture you can tell she’s still out of it.

The next day at home she kept going up to the tree. She tried to sit on it and pull at the needles. Maybe she was smelling it.

Work In Progress – Fat Bunny

I’ve had this idea of making a bunny in my head for a while, from even before the nubby dolls or pee pee monsters or anything. I tried once before and it was a dismal failure. But now with some experience under my belt I decided to try again. This isn’t the original bunny I had envisioned. It’s fatter and the ears are floppier. I must dig up the original sketch…

Well anyhoo, she’s made out of garbage fabric again. I wanted to work out her design first before moving onto fabric I like. And good thing I did. There is actually another bunny before this but it was all flat and sad.

I haven’t decided on the limbs yet. I liked the bendy arms and legs on the pattern doll so I made one arm and one leg bendy to see how they looked. When I showed her to Alan he was confused. He said it looked like one of the arms was broken. :)

I really like how she turned out. She’s partly filled with pellets and the rest polyfil so she has a nice heavy butt for sitting and the rest of her is soft and flopsy. She needs a little dress and apron I think and of course a face. Then I will move onto a real bunny with real fabric.
