Celebrating My Birthday

Before I get into talking about my birthday I just wanted to thank you all for your kind comments about my blog and my hair. :) It was all very heartwarming. It was very nice to hear from the anonymous people out there! It makes me want to continue posting everyday but we’ll see. I think lately I just feel like I have nothing to say (well not this post because boy is it a long one). Well anyhoo…to the reason I was posting…my birthday!

So what did we do to celebrate my 33rd birthday? Well on Saturday Olinda came out from Pacifica and spent the whole day with us! THE WHOLE DAY! I love it when Olinda comes out to visit us! We did whatever I wanted since it was my day. We went to the Clayton Valley Pumpkin farm. Isabelle was so small the last time we were there to get pumpkins.

We love Olinda! I’ve known her forever, since we were what…four years old?

If you don’t want your picture up here, Olinda, let me know and I’ll remove it.

Then for dinner we met some friends at Happy Roll in Concord. I really like the food there. Yum yum yum! My friends were very late. That’s all I have to say about that. (Alan says: Imagine Forest Gump saying that line).

After dinner we went to get ice cream. Well actually I was the only one who got ice cream, everyone else was full. And the ice cream guys sang me happy birthday. Then we all went back to the house and had cupcakes with candles and more singing. Olinda stayed until past midnight so she was there when it turned my birthday! Hee heee heee! :)

Then on Sunday, my birthday, it was a family day. I had fun playing with my new camera all day. YES, I DECIDED TO KEEP IT!! And I love it!!

Then that night we had dinner at Chevy’s in Concord because I’ve always wanted a birthday sombrero. It was THE WORST service EVER! EVER! I would have left no tip except I felt bad. I left 8.25%, our tax. Alan said that was too much. We’ve never been treated so badly at a restaurant before. And on my birthday too.

WARNING: PROFANITY AHEAD
It was so bad that I actually spoke to the manager which I have never done before. It was terrible service with the topper being when I was trying to decide which credit card to pay with. The waiter came up while I was looking in my wallet. He was standing there, like hovering, and asked do you have a credit card? Where’s your credit card? I’m thinking: Yeah fuckface don’t you see me looking through my wallet?! The manager was very apologetic and wanted to give us coupons for free dinners. I declined. I don’t ever want to eat there again.

Yeah so that was my birthday weekend. A little fucked up with the dinners but I enjoyed the rest of it. Oh and Helen couldn’t come out because of car troubles so no picture of us and our sister dolls. :(

  1. aww! sorry your birthday dinner was ruined by bad service! i can’t stand to have a bad waiter! once, i took a friend to lunch (she had just moved to our town from another state)to a little mexican food place. the waiter was terrible! didn’t even come by except to clear the plates away! then he hovered behind me waiting for me to take out my card and before i had it on the table he swiped it and left! i was pissed! i didn’t even leave a tip! as we were walking out the door he runs after me! he says “you didn’t leave me a tip!” and i said “sure as hell i didn’t, you didn’t deserve it! you are the worst waiter i’ve ever had!” the nerve of him! i wanted to sock him in the nose!

really though, if i get a really good waitress they get a good tip; like we usually tip 3/4 to 1/2 of our bill depending on how good they are.

  2. Happy Birthday! :)

Doesn’t it seem like the world conspires to ruin holidays and birthdays sometimes? It sounds like you had a great time with everyone in spite of the crappy waiter (who really didn’t deserve a tip, even though you were nice enough to leave one anyway).

The picture of you, Olinda, and Isabelle is adorable. Look at those Fall colors!

  3. Ha! Bad service? You have never been out to eat with me in DC. When I eat out there with just WaWa, everything is great. But invite one friend or family member and the service slows to a crawl and the food is bad and the weather awful and no parking and..well you get the picture. Sorry that the topper on your birthday was a bust! But look at what a lovely day you had with friends and the photos in the pumpkin patch were amazing. Love the colors, the clarity! You rock!

  4. We shall all gather at that restaurant and give them a piece of our minds! No tip, just a thrashing.

Love the pumpkin patch photo. And I am SO GLAD you kept the camera. It’s a great gift that will last forever.

  5. Happy Belated Birthday!

I’m glad you kept the camera, you deserve it!
