Small Quilt

We just got home not too long ago and I felt like posting. I uploaded the pictures but now the sleepy is kicking in so maybe I will just edit this tomorrow.

Yeah. sounds good. goodnight.

Ok wide awake now. We went to a baby shower yesterday for Alan’s aunt. I made a small quilt. I went through many ideas of how I wanted it to look: with big squares, little squares, rectangles and on and on. But Alan didn’t like any of them. I finally ended up with this design. I was inspired by this bib. I was hoping to make a matching bib but just ran out of time.

And here is the back.

I did free motion quilting. I love the look of loops and curves but I need some more practice with it. The quilting is a little messier than I would have liked.

I’m always worried about making stuff for people, if they will like it, my color choices and design. Everyone’s taste is different. I hope Alan’s aunt likes it.

Finally, It’s Cold

October index drawing
It has finally gotten cold here. Today Isabelle actually had pants on. So it seemed silly that my banner had us in bathing suits. I hurriedly drew something up. I’m not entirely sure about it. I’m not loving it. But of course I didn’t love our bathing suit banner either. Maybe I’ll do something else…

With the colder weather I put something warmer on Isabelle. She didn’t seem to mind at first but then she threw a little fit.

Maybe it didn’t have anything to do with the outfit. She’s been grumpy lately.

Why?

Because she has more teeth coming in!

Something Else from Vacation

Oh how could I forget to mention this? I got this during Alan’s vacation. The whole photo emulsion thing with screen printing was just too intimidating. Now that I have a print gocco what shall I make first? It came with the fabric stamp. Shall I make onesies? What to do, what to do?

Actually I think I should start with paper first before doing fabric.

On the weekend I had some friends over and they were drawing each other using my computer. I’m used to drawing my cutesy drawings but I’ve never felt like I could draw people that looked real. So after seeing them drawing I thought I’d give it a try.

Does it look like Isabelle?
