Swap with Isa

Look what I got in the mail yesterday from Isa in Germany!! She contacted me about doing a swap, my first swap ever!! She sent over a beautiful needlebook. I love it! It’s just my taste! I keep picking it up and saying to Alan “Awwww, I love it! It’s so pretty!“

And she even sent over this adorable finger puppet for Isabelle along with a CD with the song Isabelle, Je T’aime by Les Poppys.

Ooooh and what to do with all the wonderful fabric…

Thank you, thank you Isa!! It’s all so wonderful!

Apple Pie

We have a party to go to today and I made apple pie. I’ve made this pie a handful of times, no maybe two handful of times and it’s always a challenge. When it goes wrong it’s because I’ve cut into it too early and it’s not set. Or one time it was mixed too much. Another time I actually managed to burn it. I think it’s only come out right 3 times. And those times it was DELICIOUS!! I made one for Alan’s Christmas party at work last year and one of Alan’s coworkers said it was the best apple pie he’s ever had.

This is not as pretty as the first time I made apple pie. That was the first and ONLY time I cut out individual leaves. There were 58 of them and it took FOREVER. I learned: never again. I simply don’t have the time. This pie was a challenge too. The butter was too cold and wasn’t mixed in well and towards the end Isabelle started to fuss. Let’s hope it tastes good.

Month Nine with Isabelle

Isabelle turned nine months old today. I know I’ve said this before but it’s gone by so very quickly.

So a little recap:

Isabelle still isn’t crawling yet. But she is managing to get around by scooting and rolling and just whatever works for her.

She’s trying to pull herself up now. She can’t quite get to a stand but she can get onto her knees. Sometimes she just sits, balancing on her knees or on her hands and feet with her butt straight up in the air.

She’s learned to clap! It’s so cute. She just sits there clapping and it’s the most adorable thing ever!

Isabelle got her first bathing suit! She almost went swimming on Saturday but we didn’t bring the suit to the birthday party. Oh well. Next time. But doesn’t she look cute in it?

She’s started doing this Elvis lip thing where she only puts up one side of her lip and sort of squints. That’s sort of weird. But as with everything she does it’s CUTE!

Ok gotta go. She’s fussing!

Update Added stuff I forgot:

I can’t believe I didn’t mention that she can now push herself up to a sit all by herself when she’s lying down. I guess she started doing this soon after she turned 8 months old. I’m so used to it now that I forgot to write it down.

No more baby car seat. She’s finally moved up.
