Apple Pie

We have a party to go to today and I made apple pie. I’ve made this pie a handful of times, no maybe two handful of times and it’s always a challenge. When it goes wrong it’s because I’ve cut into it too early and it’s not set. Or one time it was mixed too much. Another time I actually managed to burn it. 
I think it’s only come out right 3 times. And those times it was DELICIOUS!! I made one for Alan’s Christmas party at work last year and one of Alan’s coworkers said it was the best apple pie he’s ever had.
This is not as pretty as the first time I made apple pie. That was the first and ONLY time I cut out individual leaves. There were 58 of them and it took FOREVER. I learned: never again. I simply don’t have the time. This pie was a challenge too. The butter was too cold and wasn’t mixed in well and towards the end Isabelle started to fuss. Let’s hope it tastes good.

Felix always starts to fuss right near the end. So there is me rushing to finish while singing a song or stopping every 2 min to play with him…argh!
I have been on a bit of a dessert making kick lately…I think your apple pie looks great and I am sure that is tasted great too!

So how was it? I love the leaf pie but can see where it would have been to much effort. I read a cookbook this weekend and decided to buy a copy of it. So when I get home, I will order one and then make some of my own pies and breads. I miss baking and see no reason why I shouldn’t get back into the habit now.
