Sad Pea Idea and I’m Soooo Tired

Ok talk about peas first and boring other stuff later. This is my I hate peas idea inspired of course by Isabelle. Poor little pea, just wants to be loved. Photoshopped it on her to see how it would look because to make an actual onesie…whoo wee…NO not right now.

And here’s the softie.

I am thinking I want to make this pea 3D, an actual ball. Must research and figure out how to make ball when I can think straight.

Ok on to the boring. You are forewarned.

I’m a homebody usually. And we’ve been out everyday since Saturday. So I’m wearing thin here. My eyes have been so tired. It’s just busy busy busy. See:

  • Saturday: graduation and dinner with my side of the family.
  • Sunday: Berkeley to the Vivarium and Dick Blick around the corner where I bought a small silkscreen kit. Then seeing Alan’s side of the family.
  • Monday: It was a holiday and we went shoe shopping for Alan. Not me. Imagine that. Shoe shopping NOT for me. Not that I do a lot of shoe shopping. But I must have been too tired to realize I could have looked for shoes too. Just dawned on me right this moment.
  • Tuesday: Isabelle’s 9 month doctor appointment (even though she isn’t 9 months old yet). She now weighs 21 pounds 4 ounces. I swore she’d gotten over 22 pounds but nope. Meant to go to post office but so tired, took a 3 hour nap! I am so sorry Isa. The package did not go out! :( I suck!
  • Wednesday: dentist appointment with a dentist who is 45 minutes away from home because damn it he’s that good and worth the drive. Appointment involving shots and numbing of mouth and scary drill sounding implements (don’t know what they were since my eyes were closed) Must floss more. Then off to Orchards to buy some supplies for the silkscreening. Driving home realized it’s 6pm and post office is closed. DAMN!! I suck some more!! Got home and made pea softie.
  • And somewhere in there I managed to knit my tangly mess and research silkscreen vs iron ons and what shirts to get etc, etc, etc. Apparently with a heat press, commercial transfer paper, and Durabrite ink, iron ons are as durable as silkscreen.

So anyhoo today: must clean house which is a wreck. AND GO TO POST OFFICE!

Alan made me some food after Isabelle was asleep for the night. I tried to eat quietly sitting by the bed. But the fork kept clinking against the plate. Solution: lick the food off the plate.

    Bonnet for My Baby

I made a bonnet for Isabelle using the mailorder pattern. Isabelle looks so sweet in it for all of the couple of minutes she would wear it before tearing it off her head (makes taking pictures challenging). The beautiful fabric was from Abby. I basted the brim so there are gathers. Next time around I think I will try it without basting so it’ll have a straighter line. And now off to Joanns for a dress pattern!

I still want to try the couching idea that Futuregirl suggested to get the darker outline on my softies but in the meantime here’s the next softie idea. Sad carrot like sad pea is diskliked by Isabelle. I think I can make a whole bunch of sad vegetables and fruits.

Silly Parent #15, Jumping on the Air Mattress

Our air mattress has a hole in it. Alan said it was because I keep jumping on it. How did he know? :) Just kidding, I don’t really jump on it…well not usually.

Alan meant when I flop onto it. But the other day I was JUMPING on it. I do that on the bed and Isabelle laughs and laughs. And that day I forgot it was the air mattress and not the bed that I was jumping on. Is it a coincidence that today there’s a hole in it?

Look what I got in the mail yesterday from Isa in Germany!! She contacted me about doing a swap, my first swap ever!! She sent over a beautiful needlebook. I love it! It’s just my taste! I keep picking it up and saying to Alan “Awwww, I love it! It’s so pretty!

And she even sent over this adorable finger puppet for Isabelle along with a CD with the song Isabelle, Je T’aime by Les Poppys.

Ooooh and what to do with all the wonderful fabric…

Thank you, thank you Isa!! It’s all so wonderful!
