I found the Miss Dashwood hat and finally finished it!! Yay!! And it looks soooo adorable on Isabelle! I read somewhere that someone didn’t like the earflaps on this hat but I think they are cute. Or maybe anything Isabelle wears is cute…even a piece of left over fabric…

No, I do think the earflaps are cute. Now I wish I had enough yarn to add the earflaps to the second Miss Dashwood hat. Oh well. It’s not like she’s going to be wearing them a lot. I inadvertently taught her to enjoy taking off hats. She yanked this off her head and I laughed and she laughed and thought it was great fun. I had a hell of a time taking pictures because yep…she kept yanking the hat off. She even managed to take it off with it tied under her chin by stretching the crap out of it. :)

Imperfect Little Bear

I’ve finally finished this bear from Simple Knits for Cherished Babies by Erika Knight! He got his face after waiting since September 2004, 2 0 0 4 !. He was made before I knew how to seam properly. During the stick my needle anywhere to join knitted pieces together phase. That explains his frankenstein seams. He originally had a blue ribbon on him but I lost it because well when you’re sitting waiting for a face for over a year, and tossed from one drawer to another, you lose accessories such as ribbons.

So then I put a pink ribbon on him to hide the crappy seams but it didn’t hide them well. So I made him a scarf. But his little imperfections have grown on me. I think the old frayed pink ribbon suits him.

I just realized it’s been a month since I put up a video of Isabelle. So here is my beautiful bouncy girl. Her stuff has taken over the living room. In fact Alan blew up the air mattress and pushed all the furniture up against the wall and it’s just her stuff in the middle of the room. See video here.

Finished Candy Bag

Yay!! Let’s do the happy dance. The candy bag, pattern from Rowan Big Easy, is finally finished. Another project from 2004!! The incentive to finish this was the sew along and making the mom’s bag. All I had to do was make the lining,

hand sew that in, and add the handles with the grosgrain ribbon inside. I don’t know why it took me so long. I guess it was the whole sewing aspect of it.

I even made a flower for it but haven’t attached it yet. Maybe a pin of some sort so I can remove it if I want.

Finished Bubby Bear

Just knocking these old projects off the unfinished list. Bubby bear from Knitty has finally gotten a face! :)

But you know what? He’s about to be frogged. When we went to the Maker Faire I started the Jess Hutch doll in her workshop and ran out of yellow yarn, this yellow yarn, part way through knitting his head. And he can’t be unfinished! I wasn’t too happy with my bubby bear anyways. His neck is all stretched out, he’s stuffed too stiffly, and his arms and legs are weird.
