End Of Night Sleepy

I mentioned the other day that Isabelle’s sleeping schedule has gone all weird. For example, the past couple of nights she hasn’t fallen asleep until after midnight. Before stupid freaking daylight savings she used to be asleep by 8:30pm. But what happens now is she’ll go to sleep at her regular time but then wake up like it’s just a nap and then continue on with her night. So by the end of the night I am dead tired.

Usually when she’s asleep I post on here and read my blogs but now I barely get any blog reading in. :( But the nice thing is, tonight we took advantage of her late sleeping and had dinner out. Do you know how long it’s been since we had dinner out at a restaurant? I think this is actually the first time we had dinner out since she was born. It was nice. :) But I know in about an hour I’ll be dragging.

Our Easter

My friend, Olinda, came out to visit us yesterday. It was so much fun! She brought out these cookies, brownies, chocolate Easter eggs, and coconut bunnies. Then I made a yummy roast beef covered with breadcrumbs, garlic and herb crust, roasted potatoes, and brussel sprouts. Mmmm….yummmmmm! The most wonderful wonderful part was before I cooked and while I cooked she cleaned up my kitchen. CLEANED MY KITCHEN!! So sweet I could cry. And then after dinner she helped me go through my closet and clean out stuff I no longer wear. I’ve been wanting to do that for ages and she came over and I didn’t even need to ask and she did all that!!! Nobody has ever come over and helped me clean before!! It’s the sweetest thing ever. She’s such a sweetheart!

Oh I forgot to mention, the wonderful end to our day. Isabelle went to sleep at a more regular time. She was asleep before 9pm and stayed asleep the whole night!

Finished Scarf

Lace Pattern Scarf
I finished the lace pattern scarf (from Vogue Knitting Holiday 2003 ) on Friday but kept forgetting to take pictures. It’s strange having a scarf finished in this weather, it’s too warm.

In the future, I must really pay attention to the type of yarn I buy. With the suggestion of someone at the yarn store, I used Debbie Bliss cashmerino aran instead of the suggested Trendsetter Yarns Dali. It’s nice but very thick and not suitable to wear “all year round” as the magazine suggests. I wonder if the Trendsetter would have really been suitable for all year round?

Well anyhoo…let me do a happy dance for another project off my unfinished list!!

Just Don’t Get It

I’ve been having a difficult time understanding the Japanese directions for my mom’s bag. Or I should say the diagrams. I’ve been carrying the book from room to room staring at it every chance I get. I just don’t get it. It’s the whole inside and outside aspect of this kind of sewing that throws me off. I’ve been staring at the pictures for a week and I FINALLY got the first picture. At this rate I’ll be lucky if I’m ready to start in a month! :) Luckily I may know someone who can translate but I don’t know when I’ll see them. So who knows when I’ll get this bag done.

This is the first time Isabelle tried peas. Do you know what was written on her bib? Give peas a chance. Well she did. She did not like them.

Cherubs in the Land of Lucifer

Yesterday my copy of Cherubs in the Land of Lucifer arrived. I had already read an excerpt before which had brought tears to my eyes. I reread the first chapter to Alan out loud and it got me all choked up again. We haven’t read together, meaning I read out loud to him, in a long time. We are enjoying it very much and I want to continue with him. But it’s hard. Today when he left for work, I did not want to put the book down. But I’ll be patient and wait for Alan.
