My Gingerbread Baby

Towards the 12th of each month, when Isabelle turns a month older, I feel this rush to put up pictures I haven’t gotten around to showing. And I have to do it before she turns a month older because…why then it’s just not right! (Ok…just a weird quirk of mine) This is one of those pictures. Here she reminds me of a little gingerbread man in this little outfit. She’s looking all pissed here because well…she was. The outfit was too small and she was trying to stretch her little legs out.

Jumpa Jumpa Jumpa

Isabelle really LOVES jumping. See video here of her in her jumper, which started it all. Now she trys to jump all the time even when she’s not in her jumper. Jump when she’s picked up. Trys to jump when she’s sitting in our laps. And even kicking her legs out when I’m side nursing her. When she does that she pops off the boob and I have to put her back on and jumpa jumpa off she goes again. So I have to put her back on. Yep…she likes a jumping.

Silly Parent #7 - Can’t Put On Pants

Sometimes when I put on Isabelle’s pants they just won’t go on. Maybe that’s because I try to put both legs in one pant leg. It just doesn’t work that way. I don’t know how this happens sometimes. I aim her legs, one leg for each pant leg but they both end up in the same leg.

Go read silly parent #6, ripping diaper.

Alan’s Birthday

Today Isabelle turned six months old and Alan turned 32! We had some friends come over. They brought cake and food and we had a wonderful time. Thank you so much Bridgette, Jennifer, and Marie!!

Oh and see Spongebob pinata? Yes Spongebob pinata! How could I not get him when I saw him at Target, hello?! (along with matching plates, hats, and napkins…yes I’m a goober. And we’re total dorks, we didn’t even bust him up because he’s tooooo cute.)

Month Six with Isabelle

Isabelle turned six months old yesterday. Here’s a recap of some of this month:

  • Isabelle has finally taken an interest in the dogs. When she is in my lap she reaches for them and when Nestle gets close enough she grabs an ear or the scruff of her neck and yanks and pulls. Waldo is shorter so she can’t quite reach him. That doesn’t stop her from trying though.
  • Oh yes and the jumping this month, yes the jumping. Jumpa, jumpa, jumpa.
  • And when she’s not jumping it’s all about the feet. She loves grabbing her feet. In fact that’s the first thing she does in the morning when I take off the blankets, she grabs her feet.
  • Oh and with all the foot grabbing you can’t forget the toes in the mouth. Yes, this month she figured out her toes can go IN her mouth!
  • She also figured out how to roll from her tummy to her back. No more stuck on her tummy and whining. Now she can roll onto her back and whine! :)
  • This month she got to sit in her stroller for the very first time without the attaching baby car seat. Oh look how big she’s gotten.
  • No more mittens this month…FINALLY. Yay!
  • And yesterday, the day she turned six months old she got real food, not milk from me!! Food from a spoon! And she seemed to enjoy it. Of course…come on she’s my daughter…she HAS to like food. :)
  • Oh and the hair…the crazy hair. It’s finally getting not so crazy. It’s calming down a bit. It’s getting longer and soon there will be a post about her first hair cut…sniffle sniffle.

  • This month has flown by. I want it all to slow down so I can savor every minute, every second with her. She makes us so happy and it’s going by too quickly.

    Read month five.

    Baby Booger

Alan is sentimental. It’s sweet. He saved the hospital bracelets we got from Isabelle’s birth. He kept her umbilical cord when it fell off. He kept the band aids from her first shots. I think he even has some nail clippings.

The other day you should have heard me when I picked this big ass booger from Isabelle’s nose. I was sure my loud maniacal laughing would have woken Alan up. I was laughing and saying to Isabelle, Do you think your daddy will want to keep this? as I stuck it onto his computer. I told him what it was. It’s not on his computer anymore. You think he kept it?

Ha ha ha!! How gross am I?
