It Hurts?

We had dinner with some friends last week who had a little baby boy back in October. The mom was wearing a thingy on her left wrist, a thingy that kept her from bending her wrist wrong. It was hurting from picking her baby up improperly. Well after that my left wrist hurt. I said to Alan do you think I’m imagining pain since I saw her wearing that thingy? I mean Isabelle is 18 plus pounds…But it hurts. It does. I think…

So strange because I woke up this morning and my wrist hurt! I thought maybe it was a knitting related pain but maybe it is a baby lifting thing! Hmm…

How about it is a bit of both: you realizing that you have a pain in your wrist because you saw someone else admitting it.

The mom I nannied for had this problem, and even I had some irritation in one wrist, one thumb, and briefly in my shoulder from picking up twins all the time. I’d never heard of this before, but it seems like it’s a common problem among moms, and espeically new moms.

This is sooo common. I have read tons on it and there are all kinds of helpful guidelines out there too. It’s real.
