Crumpets is taking FOREVER. I think it’s because my needles are the same size as the cord. See….

So I knit a little then I have to scootch the stitches across. It’s such slow going. I’m almost tempted to put it down and start on something else! Yes yes I know Trixie, I’m jumping around from project to project. I’m delusional…it’s mommy brain Sarabeth! :)

Maybe I should get some different needles…

Isabelle has started talking as she’s falling asleep. We say she’s talking to the sandman. She’s trying to negotiate for more awake time. ;-) See video here.

Silly Parent #6 - Ripping Diaper

Stretch goes the tabs on the diaper. Ummm…but not that far because then they go RIP as Alan can tell you firsthand. And then silly silly him, he threw it away (I would have done the same). But now we know to put another diaper on top of that to hold it in place until it’s soiled. See…as I’ve said before, we’re learning. :)

Month Five with Isabelle

Isabelle turned five months old yesterday. Some highlights:

  • The little one has started arching her back a lot. It makes sitting with her a challenge because she’s all squirmy and wiggly.
  • She has started getting tangles in her hair! Oh no! TANGLES!!!! Alan sits there and works them out, like he’s grooming a little monkey.
  • During bath time she cranes her neck back a lot and it makes it hard to hold her. She’s just asking to roll head first into the water. But on the plus side it makes cleaning her little neck fold much easier.
  • She gets distracted while eating now. I must stay quiet and not move my hands into view or she’ll stop and stare.
  • Isabelle likes standing. Sometimes when we try to sit her down she locks her legs as if she’s standing.
  • She tries blowing raspberries. Video here.
  • She sticks her tongue out a whole lot now.
  • She started talking a lot falling asleep like she’s fighting it and trying to convince us to let her stay awake, talking to the sandman. Video here.
  • She can turn herself around in her exersaucer.
  • She’s started trying to lift her head and upper body up while she’s eating on her left side. Silly baby…can’t eat and get up at the same time.
  • And finally…rolling. Yep she’s got that down.
  • Isabelle is the center of our world. She is soooo loved.
