Fitful Sleep
Posted in: Family

For the past four days we’ve been getting our 12 hours of sleep here. Or I should say Isabelle has been. I fall asleep with her sometimes and then wake up and leave her sleeping. Then when I go to bed for good I’ve been having a fitful sleep. So my head has been hurting in the evenings for the past four days. Isabelle seems fine. She tosses and turns and almost wakes up and then falls back asleep. I on the other hand wake up completely when she does that.
So I’m feeling like crap. It doesn’t help that I’m coming down with a cold or something. Let’s hope tonight is better.

Felix is a really loud sleeper - he tosses and turns, makes funny noises, sometimes even whimpers a little - all in his sleep. I wake up for all of them wondering. He has been sleeping with us since day one even though his crib is in the same room but it is so much easier for the breastfeeding. We are starting to think about moving him over to the bed slowly but I think I will still hear him and wake up all the time!
Isabelle is 4 months right? And, you are still waking up to every sound? “uh oh” for me…
Do you have the opportunity to nake naps during the day? or go into another room after she falls asleep? Good luck…

This is why I moved Finwe to his crib before I had planned on it. Amazingly he sleeps better in his crib than next to me.
With my first, we had her sleep with us until she was nearly a year old. It’s really a luxury with just one. Our second, Larien, slept better without us as well, so she was in her crib at 4 months.
