Walnut-Parsley Pesto

Yesterday I made some walnut-parsley pesto with fettuccine. It was very simple to make. It tasted o.k. I guess my taste buds are still off. Sometimes after I eat food it leaves a yucky taste in my mouth. And with the pesto that’s what happened. :( It also happens with sweet stuff like chocolate. So sad.

Well when I made the pesto I didn’t use up all the walnuts so I decided to make caramel walnuts. I boiled them in water for 5 minutes and drained and dried them then sugared them. I’m supposed to let them sit overnight before I fry them up but I’ve just been eating them as is. They’re so yummy. So no finished caramel walnuts picture. (Because most of them are in my belly. Maybe next time)

And today I still had pesto left over so what did I make? Grilled cheese and pesto sandwiches. Yummy! But again afterwards yucky taste in my mouth. Hrmp…I’m looking forward to when food tastes normal again.

Alan’s Snake Quilt

I’ve been working on Alan’s snake quilt!! All the piecing was already done when I put it into the closet that swallowed it up for over a year. In fact a lot of the quilting was done too. The outside borders still needed quilting and that’s what I’ve been working on. I worked on it until I couldn’t work on it anymore. I ran out of thread. So once I get more thread, more quilting will be done.

Baby Stroller Happy

We don’t like salesman at our door. We have a sign out front that says NO SOLICITATION. But you know that doesn’t always deter them. Sometimes they come anyways and say oh we’re not trying to sell you anything, we just want to show you something (bullshit). Well the doorbell rang then Alan dropped his computer and he was all pissed expecting it to be one of those salesman. He stomped to the door all ready to rip into someone. But it wasn’t one of those idiots. It was the UPS man with our first gift from our baby registry, a baby stroller.

Alan brought it into the house, my eyes teared up and I waddled over into his arms and we hugged. His anger just melted away. He was so happy, that’s baby stroller happy.

Alan’s Quilt is Gigostic

Well I got more thread but it’s been slow going with Alan’s quilt. But did you know it was gigostic? It’s humongous. See…

Those are his feet sticking out at the bottom.

(I was giggling and laughing when I made Alan hold the quilt to take this picture. It’s hard to take a steady picture when you’re laughing. And Alan’s arms were getting tired and he was getting quite annoyed, which just made me laugh more. Why was I laughing? Not a clue. Something about him being draped under the big quilt with nothing but his feet showing. It just tickled my funny bone.)
