Seared Salmon with Lemon Rosemary Butter

This is seared salmon with lemon-rosemary butter sauce from Fine Cooking magazine, the same issue I made the spaghetti and meatballs from. I’ve decided it’s a good idea to post my cooking on here so I can keep track of what Alan likes to eat (he can be a finicky eater sometimes…o.k all the time).

Alan didn’t care for the sauce. He didn’t hate it but he didn’t like it either. He said the salmon was yummy without the sauce. I liked the sauce. I didn’t love it but Alan was right. The salmon was yummy without it and it’s easier to make without the sauce. :-D

Oh…and on a different subject…Trixie I’ll take a picture of that plant tomorrow. It’s pitch dark outside right now. O.k I’m off to bed early. I have a prenatal class tomorrow.

Feeling Like Crap

So…I feel like crap today. It’s confirmed, when I don’t get enough sleep I get nauseous. I tried to sleep early last night for the prenatal class this morning but I just ended up tossing and turning until Alan got home. When he opened the door to Nestle barking I was more awake then asleep. Alan made himself something to eat then came to bed about two hours before we had to wake up for the class at 8 am. I finally fell asleep for those two hours.

Towards the end of the class I was nauseous, which was about 11 am. And it refused to go away even after eating. Alan had to run an errand in Fairfield and when we came home I promptly fell asleep for about four hours. And now I’m awake and still feeling like crap. CRAP!

We went to a friend’s wedding tonight. We had a wonderful time. I wish him and his new bride a lifetime of happiness.

I’m all worn out so I’ll finish this post by saying the groom wore a kilt. Alan said he thought he was going commando under that kilt. I didn’t think so. Umm…I was wrong.

Feeling Lazy

Trixie tagged me to answer a few simple book questions and I haven’t done it yet. Why? I’m stumped on the first question:Total number of books in your house. All my books are in my garage and I haven’t a clue as to how many I own. It’s dirty and crowded out there and the books are all high up in the cupboards and stuff is blocking the cupboards and and and and and…ok I’m just too damn lazy to go out there and count them. They’re in the garage, not technically the house so I could say I don’t have any books in the house. So that’s ZERO books. Hee hee heee :)

Ok maybe I’ll just get off my lazy ass and go count the books tomorrow. Isn’t that the procrastinator’s way.Tomorrow. I’ll do it tomorrow.

Bundles Of Books

Trixie tagged me with these book questions so here goes. (Oh and Trixie I haven’t read any baby naming books. *me stretching the truth* Ok to be more accurate I haven’t bought any baby naming books. I did peruse some when I was last at the book store. See peruse not read. :-D )

1) Total number of books in your house:

I don’t have a clue and no my lazy ass isn’t going out to the garage to actually count them. As Trixie says After all I have a baby in my belly and she DOES NOT want to breathe in the nasty garage air….. :) So I’ll guesstimate 5 cupboards full in the garage.

2) The last book you bought was:

The First Aid Companion for Dogs & Cats. Yep that’s right. You would think I would already own something like this being that I have had pets for a while. But nope. I always thought hey what a good idea to have a first aid book for our pets but didn’t actually buy one until recently. What a boring very practical book purchase huh?

3) What was the last book you read before reading this?

The Bad Beginning (A Series of Unfortunate Events, Book 1) by Lemony Snicket. My friend, Eric, has a son who loves to read and he let me borrow this. Which reminds me. I still have to return it. Shame on me.

4) Write down 5 (or 6) books you often read or that mean a lot to you.

Ummm…5 or 6?!?! Aww man…that means I need to go into the garage. Ok wait…read often. Well then I should know since I read them often right. Ok…I KNOW.

On a Pale Horse by Piers Anthony. I always come back to this book because it’s such an interesting way to look at death.

Bearing an Hour Glass also by Piers Anthony. It’s about the incarnation of time. I like stories to do with time travel.

Something Wonderful by Judith McNaught. It’s a romance book. *blush* I come back to it when I want a laugh and a good cry.

Ummm what else? Well I actually really like all the main 5 books in the Incarnations of Immortality series by Piers Anthony. I already started to mention the ones about death and time but I enjoy the others as well:

With a Tangled Skein about fate

Wielding a Red Sword about war

Being a Green Mother about nature

I always come back to them and have for years ever since I read them as a young girl. So that’s 6 books.

So that takes care of this question.

5) Who are you going to pass the stick to (three people) and why?

Oooh this is a hard one. Let’s seeeeee…how about

Ann

Her weekends are busy “frolicking with dyes, days spent knitting and woodlands filled with lunaria” so let’s see what she reads.

Penelope

I enjoy her art very much and am interested in seeing what books she reads.

Ummmm one more?! Ok how about…

Robin

I’ve lost her blog and cannot find it. It’s just no longer there. So I emailed her and tagged her and hopefully she’ll get back to me or read this and tell me where her blog has moved to. :)
