Half Way Done
Well Alan was off with a paintball buddy almost all day and then we had family visit so no belly pic today.
Instead here’s my big bad baby blanket half way done! It’s looking very stripy. I like the different colors but I didn’t want it to look stripy. I wanted it to have different colors all random. I don’t know much about yarn. Why does it do this? What kind of yarn doesn’t do this? Is mine looking all stripy because I only used one strand of yarn and the book called for two? Is that how it came out looking all random? Now I sort of wish I chose a solid color. I don’t think I like it.

It’s very pretty with the stripes. You’ve bought self striping yarn as opposed to variegated (sp?). Yours is dyed with longer segments of each colour instead of short which would give you the all over look.There are many more variegated yarns than self striping. Noro is the one that comes to mind in self striping. Koigu is more variegated. Most dept store multi coloured yarns are variegated.

P.S. I noticed that your Plymouth comes in both the self striping and variegated, but your’s really is the prettiest.

I love your blanket ! It looks snuggly. The stripes are nice and love that there is grey in the yarn.
