Vomit Tip

It’s really really gross when you vomit into the toilet and the water splashes back up into your face. Really really GROSS! Alan said I should throw some toilet paper down first. Sounds look a good idea. I would never have thought of it.

Oh I forgot to mention…I went for my doctor appointment today. They’re worried about my lack of appetite and I’m going back for an appointment next week. They want to check my keetones.

I have my second acupuncture appointment tomorrow. But shame on me I haven’t been drinking my tea. It’s the whole scared to eat and drink thing. I was supposed to have 2 cups every night. So that’s 8 cups I should have had by now. And I’ve only had 1 cup total. TOTAL.

You know what I miss? I miss enjoying food. I used to love food. LOVE. And now I can’t stand it. It’s awful. I can’t even watch the Food Network anymore. Disgraceful. I get grossed out when I’m at the grocery store. Yeck. :(

And…I miss my internet. I don’t read my usual blogs. I barely read my email. I am just all out of sorts.

Food Tastes…

Oh MY GAWD! After my acupuncture appointment on Tuesday I went home and after a successful bout of fighting not to vomit I ate food and IT TASTED NORMAL! NORMAL! Like food used to taste. That is an amazing thing. It is. When Helen was pregnant food never tasted normal, not the entire pregnancy. So this is a big thing.

I’ve been forcing down more of that tea from the acupuncturist and I’ve been feeling better. Still not normal but hey I’m pregnant…I’m not supposed to feel normal, unfortunately. :( So I have another appointment on Friday and hopefully I’ll be feeling better then ever after that.

Horrible Taste

This morning I woke up and actually felt normal. NORMAL! No acidy stomach or nausea. Didn’t last long though. :( As soon as I started eating I felt like crap again. The horrible taste in my mouth that went away last week didn’t stay away long enough. The doctor says it’s acid reflux. Something with the hormones in pregnant women that loosens up the I don’t remember what he called it that makes acid reflux and heartburn more common when you’re pregnant. It makes eating so hard. Every time I finish eating it’s just yucky gross taste.

Helen was reading somewhere online about a women with a metallic taste in her mouth after she ate. She said dry mouth gum by the toothpaste section helped. I don’t have a metallic taste in my mouth but I wonder if the gum would work for me as well? I don’t know what kind of gum she was talking about. We went to the grocery store today and looked for gum by where the toothpaste was and couldn’t find any dry mouth gum.

And I’ve already tried regular gum. It doesn’t work. I chew on it maybe for a minute and then that taste is back and I have to spit the gum out before I gag. Alan says I go through gum like crazy.

Same with brushing my teeth. Doesn’t work. I feel like gagging while I’m brushing and then when I’m done my mouth feels clean and fresh for a couple of seconds but the taste comes back immediately. Which would make sense with acid reflux because it’s stomach acid and no matter how clean my mouth is it doesn’t stop the stomach acids.

I’ve tried rolaids too. They don’t seem to really help. Let me give it another try.
