Fuzzy Things

What are these fuzzy things? They’re the butterfly wings for the butterflies are free scarf. This is the yarn my friend chose. And since this is for her that’s what I’m using. I am going to add the contrasting color tonight. I hope the fuzzy furry butterfly looks ok when I’m done. If not I’ll have to choose some regular non fuzzy yarn. At least my wings match. Because earlier they didn’t. I was knitting along just going and I didn’t read the directions very well at all. The directions are for wing set 1 (monarch) and wing set 2 (morpho). So I rushed along and did wing set 1 and then wing set 2. Then I put them next to each other and they didn’t match. I should have just done two of wing set 1 or two of wing set 2. But that’s what happens when one rushes without reading carefully.

Illustration Friday: Security

This is my security for Illustration Friday. I rushed it a little this week and didn’t spend as much time on it as I usually do. The reason being: my shoulder is aching and it makes me not in a drawing, knitting, or do anything mood.

So, let me tell you the story behind this illustration. When Alan is at work at night and I’m taking a shower I get freaked out sometimes. (Especially after watching a horror movie) I’m all jumpy and I dislike taking a shower when I’m spooked. I think it’s because I can’t hear anything over the sound of the water. So I came up with this great idea. I have Nestle stand guard by the tub. And she does such a good job of it. I don’t think she understands why I make her do it though. What am I saying I don’t think she understands. Duh she’s a dog. She definitely doesn’t understand. She’s such a sweet good dog. She dutifully stands by the tub protecting me from my over active imagination.

Strangest Thing

It’s the strangest thing, my website changes for the past two days just disappeared! I had updated my illustration friday page and my working on page. But the changes were gone. And my two last entries in my journal disappeared and one entry on the dog’s blog disappeared. I wonder what happened?! I had to repost them.

Decorating Our Tree

We started to decorate our christmas tree…ok not really. This little santa is all we have up. And the only, ONLY reason he is up is because we bought him when we got our tree at Clayton Valley Pumpkin Farm. The rest of the christmas ornaments are still boxed away. And plus…we have no hot apple cider. We can’t decorate our tree without having hot apple cider and a toasty fire going in the fireplace!

Warm Fuzzy Butterflies Scarf

I still haven’t finished the butterfly on Butterflies Are Free but I did finish the scarf. It’s so warm and fuzzy. I have another ball left so I think I will make myself a scarf as well.

Stressful Night at the Movies

We went and watched the 4:45pm showing of Ocean’s Twelve today. And who would have known that six hours later I would be back at the theater. Back at the theater sitting around for an hour and a half knitting and pacing in the lobby. Yep. What happened was I lost my wallet and didn’t even realize it until Alan was getting ready for work. The last place I remembered seeing it was during the movie. So off to the movies I went at 10:45pm. When I got there a movie had already started so I peeked in and wouldn’t you know it…there were people in the seats we sat in. So I had to wait for the movie to let out. I sat there knitting my variation on a frill. I’m glad I bring that with me everywhere. It kept me occupied in the beginning before I got too antsy to knit. But the night ended well. I FOUND MY WALLET! Yippee!! Yay!! So I finally got home about 12:35am. What a way to spend my evening.

More Decorating

I dragged the ornaments out and we did more decorating of the tree. We put all the delicate balls up and the strings of light. But we haven’t put up our yearly ornaments. Wait correction. Alan started helping me put up the ornaments. He got onto a chair and did the lights up high where I couldn’t reach. Then he got hungry and I told him to get something to eat while I put everything else up. And then I sort of petered out. I’m waiting for him so we can finish it together. :)

And on a Christmas note…one of Alan’s Christmas presents arrived today. NO LOOKING ALAN!
