Teardrop Trailers

Alan and I were just watching the Travel channel. It was a program called RV Crazy and we must have just caught the end of it. It was about teardrop trailers. I have never heard of them until today. I have probably seen one on the road and had no idea what it was.

So what is a teardrop trailer? Well…it’s like a mini RV. You tow it behind your car. Inside is a bed. The teardrops on the program were all customized. They showed a pink one that had an Elvis theme, one that had a spacey out of the world theme painted with blacklight paints, and ones that had cooking areas in the back trunk. I instantly thought: oh how fun! I want one. I immediately did a search on the internet and found someone who makes them. I explored the site and someone has even customized theirs with an entertainment center, flat panel TV and DVD player!

But then the impulse of oh I WANT one sort of petered out because I remembered…I don’t go camping. So why would I buy one? :)

What is it? … A Finished Project

(me singing)

How much is that doggy in the window
Woof woof
The one with the waggely tail
How much is that doggy in the window
Woof woof
I do hope that doggy’s for sale …

This little guy is going into an envelope and into the mailbox for a ride over to Helen’s soon. Very very soon but not quite yet. He’s waiting for a friend to join him and maybe something to eat.

Update: This is Scamp from Jean Greenhowe’s book MacScarecrow Clan.

Another Finished Dog

I finished another dog. I used furry yarn this time since Helen has three white furry dogs. This little guy is so furry you can barely see his dog shape. I had to trim his little face a little to see his eyes and nose. And you can barely see his ears. His head is just this furry shape and the ears are like two more furry projections.

So he’s going in the envelope. But they’ll need a bite to eat so I made some bones, a bowl and a travel bag to hold it all.

Web Ring

I’ve been accepted to the Purling Puppy web ring today. Yay! So I was exploring Ring Surf to see if they had any rings for English bulldogs. I found some rings for French bulldogs. So I happily clicked away and found this page where they have cute pictures like the one here!

When Nestle was in puppy school we saw a man with a Frenchie. Alan and I talked about getting one and even went so far as to call someone up who sent us puppy pictures. (which we still have because they are just that adorable) However, we wanted a heavier dog that Nestle wouldn’t be able to push around so we ended up with Waldo. Waldo is a little tank and he doesn’t get pushed around. Even though he’s smaller he’s all stocky and weighs just about as much as Nestle does. Yep that’s two 60 pound dogs. Or is it 70 pounds? I can’t remember how much they weighed when they went to the vet last. Yep big heavy crazy dogs that I love. And that’s why they have their own blog devoted entirely to them! :)

Barking Dog Toy

This toy from Gmyboree looks fun. I don’t know how big it is though. It’s supposed to be for babies so I’m guessing it’s tiny. I just thought it would be a fun dog toy. Helen has bought toys for her dogs from baby Gap before and she says they were very sturdy. Her dogs usually rip open toys but seemed to have a harder time with the baby toys. I wonder why that was? Maybe this one is like that too.

I think this toy is so cute because it has it’s mouth in the cutest expression. It reminds me of Waldo, that expression. Not the mean look, just the tooth thing. Waldo quite often has one tooth sticking out, like his upper lip is caught. When he was a puppy I used to think it looked weird and I would give his lip a little tug and it would cover that one tooth. But he does it quite frequently so now I’ve gotten used to it.

Make-Up Lesson

Eeeew! My cousin Cynthia sent me this. I believe it’s a makeup lesson for something called Eye Talk. It gives you a crease in your eye.

I don’t know if it’s real but eewwww. Eye stuff freaks me out. It’s yucky. Like in Ace Ventura where Jim Carrey pushes his eye. Aaaw…gross! Just thinking about it makes my face scrunch up in disgust.
