Knit Along
Posted in: Illustrations
So, it’s the middle of the night. I am here in front of the computer. The dogs are asleep. Alan is at work. And I am reading knitting blogs. Something I keep coming across is the phrase “knit along”. And I sit here wondering: what is a knit along? So you knit along with whoever is throwing the knit along? Where do you get the pattern for it? I see them quite frequently but I don’t understand. Whenever I see one I don’t see an explanation. It’s just like everyone knows what it is, except for me of course.

I just joined my first Knit Along. You are exactly right, you just join a bunch of other knitters who are working on the same project. It is interesting to see others’ yarn choices etc. and it also very helpful for any problems or confusion with the pattern. Usually, whoever is running the KAL will have a separate site devoted to the KAL - and here you will be able to see and hear from everyone who has joined and also find info on the pattern.
I just did the Hallowig knitalong - on my site in the sidebar is a button that will link you to the Hallowig KAL site.
