Circular Needles

I was reading Knitting With Mom and Joji mentions that she’s never used circular needles before. When I started knitting that’s all I used. That’s what I originally learned on, in fact. And I didn’t use straight needles until many months after I learned to knit. Now I’m so accustomed to them that even when I’m using straight needles I have the urge to drop the needle after I’m done with a row. That’s because I’m used to it being connected. That does not work well with straight needles at all. It must make me look like a klutz dropping the needle after each row.
That must make you look exactly the same I look… I never drop a needle, even if they´re circular… Sometimes I forget they are connected and try to separate them too much. They always remind me: we are bond together!!!
You see, here in Argentina, circular needles are very VERY rare. Nobody knits with them. Now, when people see me knitting with circulars, they look at me like I´m knitting with some kind of home-made device… It´s funny to explain everybody they are “connected”!
